We had the good fortune of connecting with Adriana Falcon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adriana, what do you attribute your success to?
Success, whether personal or in building a brand, rarely hinges on a single magical ingredient. However, if I had to identify the most crucial element that has consistently driven achievement, it would be the principle of underpromising and overdelivering.

My practice of setting reasonable expectations and then surpassing them creates a powerful dynamic. When my clients receive more than anticipated, it generates an emotional response that standard service simply cannot match. My approach builds trust organically and creates advocates rather than just satisfied customers.

This doesn’t mean sandbagging or deliberately lowering the bar. It means being realistic about timelines, services, and deliverables—then putting in the extra effort to surpass those promises. The magic happens in that gap between what was promised and what was delivered.

If I could choose a second critical factor, it would undoubtedly be the power of your network. In today’s interconnected world, who you know often determines how far your success can reach.

My network helps me transform individual success into sustainable growth. When you consistently exceed expectations, your network spreads the word, creating a flywheel effect that builds momentum over time.

Success isn’t about flashy tactics or momentary brilliance—it’s about building trust through consistent excellence and nurturing the relationships that amplify your impact.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m the founder and CCO of Hodgepodge Creatives, a boutique agency specializing in email and SMS marketing. We’ve had the pleasure of working with some top-notch CPG brands and pride ourselves on delivering personalized attention and customized strategies that you won’t find at larger agencies. Our hands-on approach has helped numerous brands strengthen their customer relationships and drive repeat purchases through targeted communications. We pride ourselves on being able to be nimble, responsive, and truly integrate with your team.

Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t “easy” but it also wasn’t the most challenging. It was a series of risks and trust in myself and in my network that led to where I am.

For fun I enjoy hanging out with my toddler, riding my scooter to our local Downtown area, weekend trips with my husband, dog, and daughter, singing at the top of my lungs, gardening, and dreaming big on future endeavors.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love my hometown in Orange, Ca. I live walking distance to the cutest downtown called the Orange Circle. It’s filled with restaurants, coffee shops, and vintage shops. It’s set in a quaint historic area and there is a strong sense of community here. Some of our favorite spots are Butaton Ramen, Osea, Play Coffee, Contra, Provisions Deli & Bottle Shop, and The Potting Shed.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I can’t take all of the credit for my success! My previous jobs, co-workers, and mentors have tremendously shaped my career and equipped me with the confidence to start my own business.

Working at the agency Common Thread Collective filled me with so much knowledge. I honestly stumbled into marketing kind of on accident and they not only took me in with open arms but also supported me through all of my fumbles.

Landing an adjunct professor role at Chapman University helped me recognize the value of my expertise. I’m grateful to my dear friend Bernie Dickson for introducing me to this opportunity! Teaching branding and advertising design not only strengthens what I offer my clients, but also allows me to learn from my students each year.
