Meet Alexandra Klein | Life Balance Strategist & Certified Mindfulness Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Klein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alexandra, what is the most important factor behind your success?
For a long time, success felt like a race I didn’t remember signing up for.
There was this invisible bar I was always trying to reach, some moving target of “enough” shaped by comparison, culture, and quiet internal pressure. Even when I worked hard and achieved things, that unease didn’t go away. Especially in a city like LA, it’s easy to fall into the trap of measuring worth by what’s visible. But that version of success often pulls us away from our own truth.
Everything began to shift when I found mindfulness, self-compassion, and later, Life Balance Strategy. These weren’t just practices; they were reckoning and a homecoming. They helped me get quiet enough to ask different questions, instead of focusing on “How do I keep up?” the focus and intention became, “What actually matters to me?” “What kind of life feels whole in my body, in my relationships, in how I spend my time?”
These days, success feels quieter and more true. It’s being able to live in alignment with my values, to choose presence over pressure, and to meet life with self-trust rather than performance. That’s what I consider my success: not having it all figured out, but having the tools to return to myself when things get messy.
But success also lives in the sacred moments I get to witness in others. When a client reconnects with their own clarity, takes a brave next step, or simply learns to soften toward themselves, I feel it in my bones. Their success is their own, but there’s a deep joy and honor in being invited into that unfolding.
And somewhere in the space between their journey and mine, something shared begins to form – a quiet, mutual recognition that we’re both showing up, honestly and humanly. That we’re not here to fix each other, but to walk alongside. That’s the kind of success that fills me up: the kind rooted in connection, alignment, and purpose. Not a finish line, but a way of living. Breath by breath, step by step.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a certified mindfulness and self-compassion teacher and a Life Balance Strategist. I work with people in seasons of transition. This might look like burnout, grief, indecision, or simply a quiet ache for something more aligned.
My clients range in age and background, but they all share a desire to feel more connected to themselves, to their choices, to their sense of aliveness. I guide them in pausing, tuning in, and moving forward from a place of clarity, empowerment, and self-compassion.
What makes my work different is that it’s not just mindset work or practical tools work – it’s both. Together, we explore what matters most and create space to honor that. This work is about more than coping. It’s about remembering who you are.
My path into this work is deeply personal. I tragically lost my father when I was 19, and that loss cracked open everything I thought I understood about life. In the years that followed, I struggled with anxiety, dysregulation, and a lot of self-doubt. I searched for anything that might help me feel steady again. It wasn’t until I found DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and eventually mindfulness and self-compassion – that I started to find my way home to myself.
Training with teachers like Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach, and Phillip Moffitt helped me deepen not only my understanding but my integrity. What I’m most proud of now is the kind of space I’m able to hold: one that is honest, warm, and gently transformative.
Helping someone tune back into their inner wisdom, especially when life feels uncertain—that’s the heart of my work. And that’s what I love most about it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit LA, I’d want them to experience the city’s full texture – grounding, creative, nourishing, and alive.
We’d start with a slow morning at the Santa Monica Farmers Market, coffee in hand, wandering the stands and soaking in the colors. Lunch at Gjelina after a stroll down Abbot Kinney, or dinner at Cobi’s for bold flavors in a cozy space. I’d take them to Cosette for cocktails on the patio, and for something warm and soulful, Prospect Gourmand – a place that always feels like sharing a meal with chosen family.
For art, we’d spend time at The Getty, its gardens, light, and stillness always move me. The Broad, LACMA, and Artspace Warehouse bring in color and play; if they love film, the Academy Museum is a must.
I’d take them to InsightLA for a Sunday sit or a daylong retreat in Benedict Canyon, and walk the Peace Awareness Labyrinth, a quiet sanctuary hidden in plain sight.
One morning would be for Annenberg Beach, followed by lunch at Malibu Seafood, where the waves remind you how to breathe.
To end the week, I’d host a private dinner at home, cooked by my dear friend and gifted chef, Katie (@katietakesawhisk). Her food is soulful, generous, and always lingers long after the meal ends.
But what makes a visit unforgettable isn’t just where you go – it’s how you feel. The presence. The long drives, the late-night tea, the quiet joy in ordinary moments. That’s the kind of LA I’d want them to know.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mentor, Celeste Young, has been a steady throughline in my path.
We first met over Zoom during my mindfulness teacher training, and even through the screen, her presence carried a depth and groundedness that moved me. She wasn’t trying to impress; she simply was the practice of integrity, humility, and quiet strength.
Celeste teaches Dharma throughout Los Angeles and on retreats. Sitting with her reminds me that true teaching doesn’t come from performance, it comes from presence, deep listening, and living what you teach.
When she introduced me to Life Balance Strategy, something clicked. It gave structure and language to questions I’d been living with: What truly matters? How do I live from my values, not just urgency?
Her mentorship helped me return to myself. When she encouraged me to become a strategist, it became a turning point—not just professionally but personally. It was a quiet yes that continues to ripple through the work I do today.
She’s more than a teacher. She’s a mirror, a guide, and a presence I’ll always be grateful for. Her belief in me helped me believe in myself.
