We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexandra Monroe & Jadah Cunningham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexandra Monroe & Jadah Cunningham, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I think as a duo we hold a lot of grace for the ebs and flows of work life balance. We understand every industry has its seasons and so being strategic with our business plans allows us to have a the space to audit all that’s going on in our lives and making sure we are continuing to take care of our selves as human beings not just business owners. But in that same vein we love hitting new business milestones so we definitely work hard to keep our batteries healthy and keep creating.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Red Eye Creative is truly our little gem. It may come off corny, but I think we’ve curated a healthy growing business that works for us as creatives but also really allows us to make impact in unique ways. I think having each other as partners in this process has allowed us to get where we are today. The support we provide really helps get past the hurdles, so with that said, growing Red Eye hasn’t been easy, but the accountability and additional creative perspective makes our work a lot stronger. I think the one of the things that has taken us this far is creative problem solving.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A few things come to mind for sure! I think LA is a staple for taco stands, so Ave 26 or tTacos el Venado always hit. We are also love hand rolls, so you can find us at Yunomi in the Arts District. To hang out, we love a good DJ set – Rosegawd , Earry Hall, and Kittysayword always throw down so we know it’s a going to be a good time whenever we hear them spin at different venues across LA. We also always try to find fun youthful activities wether it be a tennis club, field day with our friends or grabbing desserts. We’re always looking out for good energy, and LA has a lot of that!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think our biggest shoutout goes to all the dear friends, volunteers, local businesses and genuine community goers that have contributed to our events and campaigns. Nothing goes unnoticed and each and every person plays a apart in out growth and that by all means deserves a huge shoutout!
