We had the good fortune of connecting with Alladan Flinn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alladan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
My business helps the community by bringing back ‘Hard Asset’ education in a way that’s actually fun. In a world where everything is digital and infinite, we use trading cards to teach the power of scarcity. When a collector holds a card numbered out of 21, they aren’t just holding art; they’re learning the most important economic lesson there is: that value comes from things that cannot be printed into oblivion. We’re using the nostalgia of the trading card binder to build a foundation for a more disciplined financial future. It’s about moving away from the screen and back to the hand—giving people a tangible way to preserve history and share it with the next generation.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
To me, art is a Trojan Horse for truth. We use the beauty of our cards to make complex economic ideas approachable. I’m most excited about the fact that our art acts as a bridge between generations. Professional success didn’t come easy; it required a ‘low time preference’ mindset—sacrificing short-term gains for long-term cultural impact. We stay inspired because our team shares a synergy that’s rare in this industry. The world should know that Based isn’t just a business; it’s a mission. We are documenting the birth of a new era on the finest cardstock available. The lesson is simple: when your work has a ‘why’ that is bigger than a paycheck, the challenges becomes the fuel that push us forward.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend visited, we’re going ‘Full Analog.’ We’d start with a slow trek through the giants of the North West Coast line. nothing humbles you like a forest that predates the stressful systems we talk about every day. We’d spend the week hitting the hidden gems: local diners where the coffee is strong and the stories are real, and coastal overlooks that make you feel like the first person to discover them. The most important stop is meeting my father. He is the blueprint for who I am. He lives a life of quiet simplicity away from the ‘big city’ distractions. Choosing quality, family, and the great outdoors over the digital treadmill is my idea of a perfect way to show a friend a good time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe everything to my family and my team. My wife supports the dreamer in me, and my kids give me the ‘low time preference’ mindset—reminding me that I’m fighting for their future, not just today. They are my drive. My team is the engine; they take my ideas and refine them, bringing out the best in my creativity. Without my family, I’d have no ‘why,’ and without my team, I’d have no ‘how.’ This story isn’t about me; it’s about the people who believe in the vision enough to help me carry it.”
