We had the good fortune of connecting with Allie Dunn and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Allie, looking back, what do you think was the most difficult decision you’ve had to make?
Moving away from home (NYC) and leaving behind my family and friends to chase something in a completely different state (Tennessee) with a different culture not knowing a soul there.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an artist in the sense that I write my own songs and use what I believe in to get my message out there to the world. I try to create feel good songs that people can escape to in this crazy world- I’m a big mental health advocate as well and definitely incorporate that theme in a bunch of my songs.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Hmm, personally Nashville proper isn’t entirely my vibe so I visit my friends where they live more than they come here haha. But I would take them on trails on the outskirts of the city and local restaurants and support small businesses for sure.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout my managers Stuart Berk and Madison Policastri. Through all the ups and downs of my career so far they’ve stuck by my side and kept pushing me forward. They also took a chance on me and I wouldn’t be where I am now without them
