We had the good fortune of connecting with Alondra Liriano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alondra, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Facing my fears and doing things I knew I had to do even though I didn’t feel like it. A lot of my success has stemmed from making myself uncomfortable. Even in college, I have a fear of public speaking and I’m glad my major requires a lot of presentations because it challenges me which makes me grow. Everything with time and grace. With my content creating, I had to get over what people would think of me because I would have let it hold me back. I would’ve stayed in my own bubble worrying and overthinking about what people thought of me. But no, I faced that fear and said I’d do it scared anyways. What I want to leave with you though is making the decision to fully trust God has changed my life. The woman I am, the habits I have and am continuing to create, the people that are intentionally put in my life to assist me, are all from God. I want to stress this, I am nothing without God. Yes, I put in hard work and consistency but God is the ultimate driving force, I am just walking in my purpose and the destiny He created for me, boldly and fearlessly because that is how He has brought me to be.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a wellness and design digital creator. I am also a landscape architecture student in my last semester. I am graduating May, glory be to God. I create digital designs for all three of these interests. I am most proud of my dedication to consistency and improving my curations. I take pictures of interior, landscape and architectural designs. This includes furniture, urban/residential design, and my wellness finds. For wellness, I take pictures of anything that is good for you physically and products/services that are aesthetic. I also make a lot of mini vlogs or days in my life on my Tik/Tok and Instagram. This type of content really shows the balance I maintain in my life so I don’t burn out. I share a lot about health and mindset on my social platforms. My YouTube is where you’ll find more detailed videos about my life and some mindset/God inspirational videos where I talk about my experience with God and how it’s allowed me to have a positive/go-getter mindset. To get to where I am today professionally, it took a lot of dedication and strength. I had to do things I really didn’t want to and push myself when all I wanted to do was sleep. But I’ve realized giving up and going on are both hard so I decide to choose my hard very wisely. Plus, I always think of it like I am so much closer to my goal than when I started. Why go back to square 1? What keeps me from not giving up also, is thinking about those times where I pushed myself at my lowest, that wasn’t in vain so I remind myself to keep it pushing. Even if you aren’t sure about what you’re doing, at least doing something will put you closer to your path than doing nothing at all. Every time I face a challenge I have realized a breakthrough or success story is on the other side. God sees you working, He won’t let you fail!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my bestfriend was visiting Washington D.C. I would take them to Tatte Bakery either location works. Best coffee, food, and atmosphere hands down. Then I would bring them to a we works co working space to do work because hello, productivity and work-life balance is key. After that we would go back to my place and get ready for a girls not. Maybe drinks at a cute bar like Fig Leaf or Never Looked Better. After that maybe a lounge, Mirrors or Caspis.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God first and foremost deserves credit for it all. The doors He has opened for me wouldn’t have been possible by man alone. The Complete Artist Way by Julia Cameron is what gave me courage to begin my creative journey and some sort of direction. Pastor T.D. Jakes, Steve Harvey, Oprah Winfrey, Lori Harder and so many more motivational/mindset speakers, are all important figures who have led me on my journey and kept me on the path to success. There are so many more people I can thank, my family, my mother, my brother and sisters, my best friends and everyone in my circle! I am grateful because I have a great support system and I am glad I am constantly motivated to keep going and to not give up no matter what. I have professors, Dr. Nola, Anne Anderson and Dr. Myers, and mentors Tom Balsley, Christina Thomas, Contien, and so many more but these people are all I can think of am I am forever grateful and appreciative.
