Meet Amanda Penny | 18 year old with a podcast

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Penny and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
When I tell you had to make some very difficult decisions I’ve had two but one of the biggest ones I think I’ve ever had to make was if I was going to continue podcasting when I go to college this up coming fall , Like I said I’ve always been doing social media. Start when I was in seventh grade but start podcasting as a sophomore in high school . this Podcast has been with me since I’ve been in high school and I didn’t know if I want to continue it or not. but decided that I was going to. Because this is something I love to do that I’m gonna make the time to do it when I’m in college next year plus I’m going for a full degree and media communications broadcasting.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Have you ever met and 18-year-old who it was a full-time high school student and runs a podcast well let me tell you about Amanda Penny. Amanda Penny started her social media career at the age of 12 and her middle school by daily vlogging on Instagram off a friend’s cell phone because she didn’t have a cell phone at the time from their chart of the group popularity and I was known as the Instagram for a kid vlog kid at school from there I started to learn more about Instagram and eventually got my own cell phone and Instagram vlogging all through seventh grade and most of eighth grade. Eventually, I decided I had to try something different because I was going to the high school and made the account my Finsta what do we call the accountant a virtual diary because it has tons of memories on there from my middle school from there I tried out tic tok had a few videos blow up but that account unfortunately got banned. But one day it all happened it was the beginning of 2021 and at the time I was interviewing random strangers off the Internet and had all someone messaged me that I just had a podcast. I decided I didn’t wanna go back on YouTube cause I used to do that too but I decided to use the app called Anchor from there I uploaded my trailer and the rest is history after I uploaded my first podcast with Ireland Bennett. My first podcast end up doing so well I kept going, and by the end of my first season I had over 1000 listeners. Now I have over 15,000 listeners. I’ve been playing all 50 states in around the world. I was only 16 at the time and had absolutely no experience and just kept going and learn how to do everything myself. Because of that, I’ve been able to work with brand such as barstool sports., MTV, young Hollywood, overtime, sports and etc. I’ve been able to interview name such as Jessica from overtime Alex Bennett from Barstool Sports Morgan Evans, from teen wolf and etc. So I kept my podcast going, and got to take my schools media class which was super sick and I was able to influence kids to do a podcast and now have influenced how much kids at my high school to run a podcast after my article came out talking about my podcast from my school and therefore I was able to start in Northport high school podcast friend. Along with that I’m not a senior in high school who will be going to Oswego as a communication media major. So like I said anything, you can put your mind to it, you can do it and that’s a little bit about me Amanda Penny.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
so if you know anything about me I am from New York AKA Long Island New York. and my favorite thing to do whenever I have anybody come to visit me has to be taking them out shopping . I love love love to go shopping with people and my most favorite place in the whole entire universe has to be the store kohl’s . Anybody who comes to visit me is that store you could be coming from a state where it has Kohl’s but trust me we’re going there will spend a whole day their doing discounted shopping of course. if you come to visit me in the summertime though I’ll probably take you to the beach I either like to go to Crab Meadow or Eatons Neck. Or Feeling up to it I’ll take you to the New York City because I don’t live that .from it only an hour I would to go to Brooklyn to go to Grimaldi’s Pizza place in Brooklyn or sightseeing around the city somewhere. And I’m gonna tell you you ever asked me to go to Macy’s with you in the city I’m gonna tell you know just so you’re aware.
