Meet Amy And Emily | Co-founders of The Color Collaborative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy And Emily and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy and Emily, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
We’re Amy & Emily, experienced wardrobe stylists who saw the potential for a color analysis business in the LA area and beyond. We’ve both attended so many events and conferences that feature talented creatives offering their services as added “perks” and thought that color consulting would add such an awesome element to these kinds of events.
We love community and supporting local businesses — so have been recently collaborating with other local businesses’ pop-up events, where customers can receive a color analysis on-the-go. We also offer private and corporate experiences.
As stylists, we’re committed to making our clients look and feel their best, and this is just another element to it! Certain colors can provoke emotions, but also make you shine as your best self. We love that we have the opportunity to share that with a bigger audience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As in all good businesses it starts with addressing a need and working to alleviate pain points. Amy and I both work as wardrobe stylists in Los Angeles and beyond. We are both very similar in how we approach things and how we work so naturally we got along well. Color theory is something that comes up every day in working one on one with clients so we tapped into that initially when we became stylists.
With the rise of Tik Tok and trends, we noticed a huge demand for color consulting and started offering this service both independently and jointly as The Color Collaborative which launched last year.
What’s unique about us is who we work with and who’s alongside us. We offer on-demand color consulting for private parties, corporate and wellness events and pop up markets.
Brands like Marshalls, Create & Cultivate, The Leftbank LA and more have all been recent partners.
We’d love to leave LA (and the world) in a more colorful way! Color consultations are truly transformative and fun at their core. If you’re interested in receiving one or visiting our next pop up, please follow us @thecolorcollaborative.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As color consultants and wardrobe stylists, we love an aesthetic moment!
We recommend either hiking in Griffith Park to catch some beautiful views, or a visiting a rooftop restaurant in Hollywood or Santa Monica. It’s touristy, but taking in the colorful and ocean views from the Santa Monica pier is a must do!
The pink walls at one of our favorite bakeries in LA, Just What I Kneaded are as instagrammable as the homemade pop-tarts. Colorful, vegan and delicious. Grab a peanut butter latte at Makisupa, and hopefully catch a pop-up event on their sidewalk. We also love a shopping moment as stylists, so we recommend The Left Bank LA for thrifted gems, and the cutest gifts. A stroll in Larchmont or Silverlake will also take you to some amazing local shops and restaurants. We think there are so many neighborhoods and local businesses to explore in LA, you can’t go wrong!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We’d love to SHOUTOUT Kadi of SparkleSquad whom we met during one of our very first pop ups at Leftbank LA. She is the owner of a hair tinsel business and is so successful with her marketing, and growing clientele basis.
