We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Bracco Biden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amy, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Rezeta and I started Ever photos because we wanted to offer families a different way to experience taking family portraits and we wanted to deliver a different product. At Ever photos our vision is to make taking family portraits stress free and deliver magazine quality portraits. Rezeta captures all of the beautiful in between moments on set between family members while I work with families on making them comfortable during the shoot. This means everything from custom curated playlists to playing peek-a-boo with your toddler so our clients don’t have to be looking down at their kids the entire shoot, wondering if they’re engaged or not. We also wanted to be transparent about our prices. A lot of photographers offer inexpensive session rates and then hit their clients with a larger bill after the shoot to gain access to the photos. With Ever Photos you get photos included with your portrait session.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets Rezeta and me apart from other family portrait photographers is our teamwork. Most photographers work solo and stay behind the lens, and we noticed that this often leaves families, who aren’t used to being photographed, feeling anxious. Many family photos end up looking posed, with moms especially constantly looking down and checking on their kids’ engagement. Drawing from my experience as a model, where I often worked with children and learned from baby wranglers on set, I took notes on what works best. At Ever Photos, we envisioned a set that’s light, happy, and stress-free. When we’re on set, Rezeta and I work seamlessly together, freely bouncing ideas off each other. After the shoot, we edit collaboratively, with Rezeta making her selects and then I further refining them. This process results in a gallery we’re both truly proud of. Working together has been incredibly fulfilling and fun.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a tough one because I spent 20 years in NYC before recently moving to Los Angeles. I could rattle off a NY itinerary easily. But I’ll tell you what I’ve done with friends who’ve visited me since moving to LA. I love seeing shows at Hollywood Forever cemetery. A dinner and dirty martinis at Musso & Frank would be in order. A drive up the PCH to Point Dume State beach with a stop for some oysters and a glass of wine of Geoffrey’s or The Sunset Restaurant in Point Dume (if you can find parking.) For a daytime hang I’d probably get a coffee at Dudley Market in Venice and make our way to Abbott Kinney and walk around. We’d definitely stop by my friends shop, Electric and Rose for some California inspired lounge wear. Then I’d head over to walk the Venice Canals which are pretty magical. For lunch I’d take them to Gjusta for a California Deli experience one day and Win~Dow at American Beauty for a burger and a grain bowl on another day. Superba has an amazing brunch and after maybe a manicure and pedicure at Pinkie’s Nail Spa. We’d definitely visit the Getty Museum one day and have a picnic on the lawn and on another day I’d take them to Huntington Botanical Gardens and make sure to show them the Chinese & Japanese gardens when everything is in bloom.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Rezeta and I both began our careers as models during our teenage years. Although we didn’t know each other back then, we shared many similar experiences. We had the opportunity to work with incredible photographers, art directors, makeup artists, and hairdressers, while also gaining valuable life experiences through travel. This journey led Rezeta to pursue photography, and her work has been showcased in galleries in Los Angeles and China. She recently achieved a significant milestone, winning 1st Place at the International Photography Awards for her series ‘The Heartbeat of the City – Los Angeles.’ My modeling career has spanned over 26 years, and I’m particularly grateful to the female photographers like Grace Huang, Olivia Graham, Coliena Rentmeester, and Peggy Sirota, who mentored me and took a chance on me early in my career. I bring all these rich experiences from the modeling world to Ever Photos, knowing that without the incredible crews we’ve worked with over the years, starting Ever Photos wouldn’t have been possible.
