We had the good fortune of connecting with Ana Kiri and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ana, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Kyiv, Ukraine. Thats where I was born and lived till I was 18 years old. Being Ukrainian, especially today, is the huge part of my identity and my identity as an artist. I opened up this topic in my latest single “Beat of Freedom”, which is a powerful and uplifting patriotic music piece about the struggle of Ukraine. Freedom or death – that is the core spirit of every Ukrainian. It was true for us in the Orange Revolution. It was true for us during the Maidan Revolution, and it is true for us today. We know who we are, and we have an absolute right to exist. The heartbeat of Ukrainians is the ‘beat of freedom.’ Without freedom, our hearts will just stop. Freedom is our truth. It is our spirit, and who we are.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Its almost never easy to follow your dream, especially when you come from not very fortunate circumstances. Im very proud of to where i’ve come and things i’ve already accomplished in so many different art mediums. Ive acted in theater, movies and commercials. Ive danced and sang on stage, i created an illustrated children’s book. I’ve created a 30 days shuffle workout program on my Youtube Chanel and I’m teaching people o dance.. I have songs I wrote and co-produced on multiple platforms and radios. I will always continue developing and working on myself until I’m on that stage holding a Grammy, AMA and an Oscar. Those three will do 🙂 You know the saying: “If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to build theirs” ?
Well, I just wanted to build my own dream. Since forever. Doesn’t matter what it was – Im pursuing all my artistic ideas.
I 100% believe that the key element to success is persistence and repetition. It’s the key to succeed – showing up. Showing up for yourself, for your ideas, for your dreams, your aspirations. The only power and secret we need is inside us. The lesson Ive learned is that you have to believe in yourself and in your ideas as much as you want others to believe in them. And don’t do anything to impress. Do it for the love of it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I fell in love with Miami after the first time i saw it from the water. The city is absolutely amazing when u are cruising around that beautiful water on a sunny day. First thing – I would definitely recommend taking that boat tour around Miami and Miami islands. That’s a must do. Among my favorite Miami attractions are Villa Vizcaya, the Coral Castle, Versace Mansion, Perez Museum and Museum of Science. Always a good time!
Id definitely recommend taking one day to maybe bike towards Key Biscayne and checking out the Crandon Park Peacock Shelter. There are majestic peacocks and bunnies everywhere. Thats one of my secret sports in the city. On the way back you can stop at the Rusty Pelican for dinner and beautiful views of sunset and Miami downtown.
Among my favorite Miami restaurants are LPM, Cote, Mila Omakase, Lido and Forte Dei Marmi.
Ive lived in Miami only about four years but I think i’m already a graduated expert and guide. Wouldn’t you agree? 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, especially my mother. I come form a very artistic family. My grandmother and my aunt used to sing and dance. My mom always wanted to be in arts but she had to work a lot to raise me on her own. She has always been helping me with all of my school, theater of dance concerts, as well as with my music school. She has always been very supportive and to everything that i am and everything i aspire to be, I’m deeply grateful to my mother. She gave me freedom in choosing anything i want to do, and she supports me forever.
