Meet Andres Brown | Tattoo Artist & Shop Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andres Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andres, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The process was something natural for me. My vision of the tattoo business is quite different from the rest, both from the client’s and the artist’s perspective. I always prioritize the comfort of both artists and clients. After all, our product is a luxury, not a necessity, and that should be reflected not only in the business itself but also in the quality of the work. Beyond just creating tattoos, I wanted to build an experience, one that feels exclusive, thoughtful, and truly elevated.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
After 13 years dedicated exclusively to fine line and single needle tattooing—at a time when no one else was doing it in my country and very few in the world—my focus has always been on creating small-scale pieces with the highest technical quality and long-term durability. I’ve studied extensively to reach the technical level I have today, allowing me to do things that not everyone can. I consider myself very creative, but at the same time, I struggle with sharing ideas and styles with other artists, which pushes me to constantly challenge myself and keep learning. My goal is to develop a truly unique style that not only stands out but also sets trends—beyond just technique, creating something that leaves a lasting impact in the industry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d want them to experience the best of LA. We’d start with Venice Beach and Santa Monica—two spots that capture a fresh and laid-back side of the city. For dinner, my top choices are Tao and Catch LA, both offering great food and an amazing atmosphere. For drinks, I love a classic spot like Nice Guy, perfect for a good cocktail and a cool vibe. A visit to the Griffith Observatory is a must, not just for the view but for the overall experience. I’d also try to take them to a private event or party—some of the best gatherings happen in creative circles, where artists and interesting people come together. And of course, we couldn’t forget a stop at In-N-Out—no trip to LA is complete without it!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been many people who have played a role in my journey, but I’d like to recognize my clients. Their trust and appreciation for my work have allowed me to grow and refine my vision in a country that is not my hometown. Lastly, my family and close friends have always supported me, reminding me to stay true to myself and my goals.
