Meet Andrew Hogue | Co-CEO NEUROFIT

We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Hogue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I’ve scaled multiple tech companies and lived through both burnout and Complex PTSD while doing so, and I’ve learned that traditional “work-life balance” is actually a misleading framework in a lot of cases.
At NEUROFIT we’ve discovered that what matters most in the long run is taking care of your nervous system – eg, helping your body learn how to process and recover from stress throughout the day, rather than trying to achieve the “perfect split” between work and life.
I make this my focus now and it’s worked much better: daily embodiment practices, like 10 minutes each of exercise and mindful stillness, better sleep hygiene, curating my social and online feeds, being mindful of who I spend time with, things like that. One thing that’s been amazing to see come to life is real data around how much our body responds to the seemingly simplest things!

What should our readers know about your business?
NEUROFIT has reached 100K+ people in 100+ countries as a family-owned business – with no external funding.
While it’s been much more challenging to walk this path upfront, it’s also been beautiful to have created it as a husband and wife team and do things our way – and I’m really grateful to have laid this foundation the way we have.
If we’ve learned one thing, it’s that you just have to get started even when you don’t feel prepared. Business is a long series of steps like that, so if in doubt, just dive in.
With NEUROFIT, we’re focused on helping people find what supports their well-being most quickly. We build high-performance mental health tech that works for our community in a matter of days, not months.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a California native, I love showing friends the natural beauty of SoCal instead of typical tourist spots. I’d start the week with a morning surf session at Zuma Beach in Malibu – it has this incredible peaceful energy, especially during sunrise. Afterward, we’d grab breakfast at Malibu Farm Cafe right on the pier.
Mid-week, we’d head down to Pacific Beach in San Diego. Nothing beats a morning surf there followed by a breakfast burrito at Woody’s or lunch at Oscars – a super small spot that makes some of the best fish tacos you’ll find anywhere in California. The whole PB boardwalk vibe is amazing.
Then we’d head out to the desert and spend a couple days in Joshua Tree. There’s something magic about those ancient rock formations and twisted Joshua Trees against the desert sky – and it has some of the most breathtaking sunsets I’ve ever seen.
For me, the contrast between the classic Malibu coast, the laid-back San Diego beach culture, and the natural beauty of the desert – all within a few hours’ drive of each other – is what makes California special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This shoutout goes out to my wife Loren, hands down. Loren is the kind of person that, in the best way, sees you all the way through to your soul from the moment you meet her – and that’s been an immensely healing and empowering experience for me. She’s the only coach I’ve ever hired, has been there for me through all of the ups and downs, she’s shown the kind of faith in me that’s stretched my own self-belief.
We’ve built a beautiful life together, spreading the message of nervous system regulation that means a lot to both of us, especially given what we’ve both lived through. And we’ve grown together over the last few years in a way that neither of us could have predicted – it’s been an amazing ride.
When you read this – I love you Loren!
