We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Nunes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrew, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was frustrated with my job back in late 2020. A former colleague called me a “paper pusher” as a joke and it changed everything. Although I was frustrated with my job, I was content with it. However, it wasn’t until that moment that I realized I needed something “more” professionally.

Cannabis legalization was underway in Massachusetts and I saw an opportunity to serve companies with 1-on-1, VIP customer service as a custom merch, “SWAG” and packaging distributor.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

CB Disco is the most creative source for bringing custom branded products to life. We differentiate from the nameless, faceless websites by presenting a superior customer experience. Whether it be custom pens and stickers to embroidered hats and polos- we can do it all over at CB Disco!

CB Disco started in 2021 as your one-stop shop for all things custom merchandise, apparel and packaging in the Massachusetts cannabis market. We made our first sale in June of 2021 and have now done business with over 150 individuals and businesses! Since then, we have expanded to several new industries including: construction, finance, and municipalities.

We got to where we are today with building our relationships brick by brick. We know all of our partners on a first-name basis and consider them friends. We like to refer to our partners as the Disco Fever Family! We are blessed to see how far we have come and still have a long way to go!

I have learned that you need to live outside of your comfort zone in life and in business. Take risks that are within reason (easier said than done) and just go for it. The worst thing that can happen is someone says no or you need to go back to the drawing board! You need to take that first step, no matter how small.

I want everyone to know that they can live our their entrepreneurial dreams by taking that first small step. I was in your shoes, I know how cliche it sounds, and you still can do it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a tough one. I would probably say going down to Cape Cod and enjoy the local eateries and beaches. Maybe a little mountain biking at Otis Air Force base? Day-trip to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket would be fun too! I would most likely plan this trip closer to the fall so it is a little less crowded. Captain Kidd in Wood’s Hole is one of my favorite places to eat on the Cape!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my wife as she is the one who connected me with Shoutout LA! She is my number one fan and confidant. She roots me on everyday and I do not know where I would be without her in my corner. Thank you for all you do, Meg, I love you.
