We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Souto and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrew, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Our events give people a much needed release from their everyday lives. They can come to our party and escape whatever stress is going on with work, drama with others and just get lost in the music for a night.

Starting in 2021 we started a blog where we’ve been able to connect people with the music we love and help promote artists we believe in.

What should our readers know about your business?
We have managed to bring our brand of underground techno to Los Angeles, New York, Denver, Detroit and San Francisco. On top of the event company I run a talent agency that represents some of the best acts in techno to North America. In addition, during the downtime I started a music blog that does reviews of underground music daily. All of these companies have a similar goal: to help forward the techno scene here and push the profiles of artists we support.

I got where I was today somewhat out of luck and the right timing. I had quit my career some years back and decided to take a year off to travel. The event company was in it’s 4th year and by the 5th year the events had really started taking off. While event promotion isn’t easy, I consider myself extremely lucky to be doing something I love. There are many ups and downs, plenty of roadblocks and sometimes people just plain out to get you but I’ve always looked at all them as minor setbacks in a very long road.

The most important tactic and one of the biggest reasons for the success of my associates and myself is that everyone thrives when we all work together. There’s also no time for pettiness in this business. Kill your enemies with kindness as they could one day be your strongest ally.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A perfect dinner date for me would be to get some martinis and dinner at Dal Rae in Pico Rivera and then head over to Angry Horse Brewing afterwards.

Long Beach: Yoga on the Bluff early then beers and lunch at Beachwood BBQ/Brewing and Joe Jost pub later on for beers and to hang with the locals.

A perfect day in LA would include a stop at Stellar Remnant record shop and dinner at Komasa in Little Tokyo. And then going to one of the many underground events that happen in DTLA.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The mentors of my events career are Alan and Gerard of Incognito. They took me under their wing and got my company going. I still partner with them on most of my events to this day though I have branched out to work with other companies and in many other cities.

Droid Behavior was also a big inspiration on how I did my events then and even to this very day.
