We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Dancing makes me happy! When I dance it’s like therapy for me because I feel free of all stress life can put on us sometimes. In addition, music is tied to my dancing. I love music so much because without it, movies & television would be dull and I wouldn’t be able to dance. Lastly, acting makes me happy because I can be a whole new person and tell stories that that most people can relate to. You can learn so much from quality films and tv shows.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I want the world to know that it’s all about persistence and not giving up. In 2019, I became Homeless in LA for a year and a half after living on Wall Street in NYC because a terrible roommate kicked me out. The silver lining is that going thru that turmoil made me a better actor and more humble. I want people to know you can go thru hell and back like me but still rise like a Phoenix if you really try. I got to where I am today because I had restaurant jobs, and saved every penny so I could get off the streets and now I live in a beautiful loft with pool and jacuzzi. In addition, I constantly am marketing myself and I always treat people with kindness and respect wherever I am at. I believe gratitude and kindness can help you so much with anything.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a close friend visiting Los Angeles, I would take them to The Last Book Store in downtown LA. Also magic mountain, hiking trails, shopping at the Grove, Larchmount and Century City. The Natural History Museum and then Santa Monica by the beach for sunset or sunrise. Now for food their is one place everyone must eat at which is The Great Greek in Sherman Oaks, literally you feel like you are eating at cozy restaurant in Greece with the best food.
Now if it’s after 10pm on the weekend I always suggest Sound Nightclub because the DJ’s they hire are always on point and everybody is dancing.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shoutout to my great uncle Rafael Campos. He was a pioneer in Hollywood. After watching his work like “Blackboard Jungle”, “The Appaloosa”, “Hitchcock presents”, “Lady in a Cage”, “Where the Buffalo Roam” and much more I said to myself as a kid I want to do what my uncle is doing. I was five years old when I watched his first film and since then I wanted to be an Actor. In addition, I want to give a big shoutout to my aunt for always pushing me and believing in my talent. She taught me so much about the craft. Lastly, I thank Oxygen Network for making my name known after starring in two popular shows on the network “Too Young to Marry? and Tattoos After Dark from 2013-2014. Also how could I forget Martin Scorsese who directed me at 18 in the “Wolf of Wall Street and working with him helped me learn so much on set, it was like a free master class and I became SAG from.
