We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna & Chase Dusatko and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anna & Chase, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting our own business as husband and wife was the ideal opportunity to work together rather than apart. Working as a team has allowed us to make choices together and strengthen our relationship while building a business. Although it may be challenging at times, working as a husband and wife duo has been much sweeter in the end.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As individuals, prior to creating Stone Bridal, we were both driven by art, music, fashion, and diverse cultures. We met while working in New York City and brought our experiences together. Anna worked at Vogue Magazine while Chase worked in hospitality and modeled for a top agency. We traveled to Europe, got engaged, and the wedding planning began. During this process, we discovered the significance behind a couple’s wedding day ensemble and realized that something was missing. We curated Stone Bridal as a destination for brides looking for contemporary designs that are ethically produced with classic flare. The environment was the most significant aspect of our showroom. Stone Bridal is relaxed, organically harmonious, and ideal for easy-going brides. It is filled with our California hearts yet driven by our worldly perspectives. Although we do not have a crystal ball to see the success of our business, we truly hope to spread the importance of sustainability when planning a wedding. Stone is set on shifting the traditional bridal shopping experience from stressful and overwhelming to chic, mindful, and ethical.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First and foremost, we would take our visitor for a drive down to the classic Pacific Coast Highway. From Newport Beach, through Laguna Beach, and down to San Clemente, there are countless restaurants, look-outs, and coffee shops alike. Among our favorite places to dine out is Selanne’s Steak Tavern right next door to our bridal showroom. It’s ideal for a date night and classic cocktails. For a laid-back atmosphere, we would plan a picnic at sunset in Laguna Beach with local snacks and a bottle of wine. During the daytime, we would opt for a hike with coastal views and local shopping for artisan goods.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We would love to recognize our family and friends for their constant support and encouragement. In addition, we are thankful for the local community that has welcomed us as a new business in Laguna Beach. Our city is both artistically driven and environmentally focused which has aligned with the sustainable aspects behind our brand.
