We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Mariko Seymour and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna Mariko, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Pursuing music has never felt like a hard choice to make. It’s the only career I’ve ever wanted to pursue. I don’t have a plan B doesn’t involve music!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Prismia, is a project that has been my debut as a lead singing drummer. My first step out on my own as a songwriter, composer, producer and performer.

Besides Prismia, I have also done some commercial composition work for online events and short films. I hope to do more of this work and pursue a masters degree in Film Scoring!

To me, creating my own original music, performing onstage with my friends and teaching music to youth is all incredibly rewarding. Music is magical in all its forms.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Pike Place Market, Capitol Hill and the International District are some of my favs for highlighting the diversity in Seattle!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My good friend Gillian McMahon is a multi-talented creative. She is pursuing a career in book publishing while also leading an awesome Seattle pop-rock band, “The Sleepy Haunts”. She writes the songs, books the shows, organizes rehearsals and creates her own album art. I admire her skills and her kindness.
