We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna P. Sutton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna P., as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
inspired by simple desire for sustainable growth in our growing community. Art offers a new way of viewing our social, cultural, and economic realities. Tackling the crucial dimensions of personal responsibility, consensus, and community, it shows how we can find a new language to reinvigorate our individual and social lives and develop resourcefulness for Art’s therapeutic aspects on mental health.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a freelance artist born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I
specialize in commissioned oil portraits, that capture the passionate and courageous spirit of humanity.
Combining my Bachelor’s in Human Services , Associates in Child Development and Double major in Fine arts, has lead me to not only be a successful Art Therapist But also, become a Founder for the East L.A. Artwalk for Queer Mercado, Goddess Mercado, and most recently a Curator and Resident Artist for The Hive Gallery.
My goal as an artist and Curator is to continue to inspire through all mediums of expressionism by
providing mentorship classes at my personal artist hub, The Honeydrop Gallery. As well, as by uplifting other artist and talents through my curating opportunities. Ultimately solidifying and unifying artist together through our Angelino Artist Tribe.
This journey hasn’t always been easy, but determination for a better tomorrow has kept my focus through art.
Art is my saving grace. Not just for me but also for my community. I am not alone.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Wow, a week?
I have to be honest. I do like my creative art space.
I work about 14 hrs a day on my art.
Most of my friends are creatives and visit me in my private studio.
My best friends are also residents of the same galleries.
We have art, paint days before a major exhibit to refocus.
Typically, after an exhibit we often have ramen together and cheers with sake.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
