We had the good fortune of connecting with anna platen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi anna, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
i think success is doing what you love. waking up every morning excited to live that life you created for yourself.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
i started acting when i was 13 years old and i have been doing it ever since. it is never easy, but it is always exciting and fulfilling. i think that being an artist can be challenging when you’re surrounded by energy that is not supporting your process. i try to make room for my creating, i try to listen to my gut and walk my own path. i am always excited to tell important, moving stories that bring connection.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
i would take them to malibu, to the beach, go hiking, have coffee in downtown, drink a glass of wine on some rooftop, maybe watch a movie or see some galleries.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
i think nobody is able to achieve their dreams without a community or mentor. i have had many people in my life who inspired me, guided me, opened up to help me learn. it is important to trust those teachers on your journey, but at the same time to differentiate if their lesson is something important for you or them. you can learn from everyone, but not every advice is going to get you closer to your dream. this is a shoutout to the people who are in it for good reasons.
