We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Storm and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My brand of Anna Storm helps to empower others to be confident and love themselves! My motto and hashtag, #slaylife, is a catchy phrase that encourages people to believe that they can achieve anything they want to, to go for their dreams and just kill their goals 365 24/7. I hope that by sharing my story of how I overcame bullying to flourish in confidence, that I can inspire others to develop the courage to transform themselves as well. I really want to challenge people to be fearlessly themselves, despite what the majority may think— to build people up and uplift them to be the very best that they can be!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a popular social media influencer and rising pop/R&B star. My brand is very eccentric, unapologetic, fierce and in your face— I challenge my followers (aka Stormtroopers) to #slaylife. From my over the top fashion to my upbeat and infectious pop music, I definitely have my own style— I blend pop with rap music, I’m not afraid to make statements. Recently my newest single, “Versace Shade,” has been getting a lot of recognition— it even made the front page of CelebMix right next to The Weeknd! I’m very dedicated to my craft, and I basically eat, sleep and breathe my brand. Whether it’s spending time recording in the studio, or recording silly/douchey content for my social media platforms, I’m always thinking of ways to get my message across to my fans. It’s a lot of work, but if you are consistent, you’ll see results. It’s a constant grind and you have to have tough skin in order to really thrive in the industry. You can’t let rejection or others’ opinions get in your way— by staying true to myself, being confident, and being consistent— I’ve been able to see my brand come to life. I think when people see me being so ballsy and confident on social media, they never realize that I wasn’t always this strong SLAY QUEEN. I grew up in a really homogenous small town, one where I didn’t fit in. I was bullied and did not have friends— I had to really work to become the alpha female that I am today. It took tons of self-affirmation and self-esteem building to develop my sense of self, but it was all worth it because I needed that confidence in order to plunge into following my dreams, and building my brand. I want people to hear my story and know that they can become confident and #slaylife too— that anything is possible when you work hard and believe in yourself! Self-empowerment can open any door!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to Malibu, which is my favorite part of LA! I love how quaint and magical it feels— if you didn’t know any better, you’d think you were in a seaside village on the Mediterranean! I would of course take them to Nobu because of the awesome views. Also it’s really an event to get all dolled up and dine there— you truly feel like a queen. I’d want to take them to the Getty Villa because I’m obsessed with Greco-Roman art/architecture, and it’s a dope place for photos! Then, I’d of course have to take them to the beach at Santa Monica, and to walk around the pier. That’s a quintessential SoCal beach vibe! After, we’d check out Venice Beach and the boardwalk there— it’s so eclectic and artsy. It’s also a great area for people watching. I’d make them workout with me at Gold’s Gym in Venice because it’s so historical and the amount of monster bodybuilders there would blow anyone’s mind! I would love to take them to West Hollywood for brunch because it’s such a vibrant scene. We’d do AYC drink mimosas and hang out at The Abbey because it’s such a landmark and there’s never a dull moment there. Later on we’d go to 1OAK and dance the night away— you gotta get some clubbing in! We’d hit up a Hollywood Hills party after that— what would LA be if there wasn’t some partying “Anna Storm” style? I’d want to show them Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. I’d take them to happy hour at Caffe Roma, and then out to a fancy dinner at Mastro’s! Then we might head to Wally’s for some wine. Also on the list would be shopping on Melrose. I get a lot of my edgy rockstar clothes there, so I think we could do some definite damage. Even the consignment stores are out of this world! Lastly, I’d want to take them to a concert— maybe some old school rockstar Sunset Strip vibes. We could wear our new Melrose Ave clothes and rock out! That’s the LA life! #Slaylife

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shout-out to my producer, Josh Stevens, for helping me to craft awesome pop/R&B bangers! Throughout my musical journey, he’s really believed in my brand, and taught me a lot about the entertainment industry. Whether it’s the self-empowerment pop anthem, “Confident,” or my newest single, the new wave dance track, “Versace Shade,” Josh knows my vibe and helps me to capture it in the songwriting process— he’s helped me to be able to distill who I am into a song, and share those aspects of me to the world. He has pushed me to really tap into my artistry, and use that artistry to inspire others.
