Meet Anne Nguyen | Art Director & Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anne Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anne, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Born and raised in San Jose, at the heart of Silicon Valley, I have been deeply influenced by a culture of innovation and an unwavering work ethic. As the child of Vietnamese immigrants working in the tech industry, I was raised with the belief that genuine success is the result of consistent dedication and hard work. This upbringing instilled in me a determination to overcome challenges with resilience and a firm commitment to excellence.
Embracing my love for literature, I’ve always been a dedicated bookworm, spending my summers, nose-in-a-book, finding inspiration in genres ranging from horror to sci-fi and fantasy, which has fueled my vivid imagination. Today, I channel the values of where I came from into my everyday creative pursuits, approaching problems with cutting-edge solutions while staying grounded in practicality, ultimately shaping me into a determined, innovative, and imaginative individual.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an Art Director and multi-disciplinary designer, specializing in conceptualization, branding, and marketing. What distinguishes me is, while a minimalist by nature, my work has been known to showcase versatility and out-of-the-box thinking in delivering creative solutions. By taking a holistic approach, I am able to hone the ability to deeply understand my target audience and use aesthetics as a powerful tool to achieve specific goals. My approach to design is firmly rooted in the principles of design thinking, ensuring that every project I undertake embodies the highest quality.
My professional journey has been driven by my commitment to consistently deliver top-tier work. I live by the mantra that “how you do anything is how you do everything,” dedicating nothing less than 100% effort into everything I do. The world of design is constantly evolving, so a willingness to learn plays a key part in my success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Given my passion for books, a visit to The Last Bookstore is an absolute must. I know that my bestie, who lives in San Francisco, would appreciate visiting, given our mutual love for art.
Coming from a city known for its consistently cool climate, I think a day at Venice Beach would be a nice change of pace for her. We would take sunny strolls as we catch up in conversation, and visit quirky shops that is reminiscent of our Haight-Ashbury days — I think this would offer the perfect blend of nostalgia and new experiences. We might even rent bikes for a ride along the beach.
Then we would return to my neighborhood of Little Tokyo, where we would take a walk to the Japanese Village Plaza to take in the rich Japanese culture, enjoy savory delicious ramen and yummy mochi treats.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
It’s truly a blessing to be in the company of some of the best movers and shakers, company I can call friends who are making waves in their own disciplines (design, photography, videography, music, and more). The interconnectedness of our journeys and the mutual support we provide each other are testaments to the power of collaboration and shared success.
The closest bond of shared success in my life is with my partner, Chris Ho. Chris has been a calming source of support and encouragement throughout my creative journey and I’m deeply appreciative of the enduring partnership we continue to nurture.
