Meet Annyett Royale | Singer/Songwriter and CEO Of Royale Records

We had the good fortune of connecting with Annyett Royale and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Annyett, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
My very first publicist after being signed to No Limit Records , said to me one day “No Risk No Reward”. That is advice that I’ve carried with me my entire career. I would not be where I am today had not taken that advise and stuck to no matter how difficult things had been getting here. The music industry is so unpredictable so if your aren’t a risk taker this industry is not for you. Every record , every performance, every dollar spent putting out new music, from production to marketing , to starting my own label ” Royale Records was a Risk . A risk I still believe in to this day and one I will continue to take.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Music is my therapy. The response from the crowd and connecting to them is something I pride myself in. My pure soul and dynamic range is something I was born with and perfected over the years and still to this day. Every opportunity to do what I love is something I don’t take for granted. I am a firm believer that opportunities aren’t always given but the right one can take you from good to great. My first international performance was in Okinawa Japan. It was an experience I overwhelmingly enjoyed and look forward to many more experiences in other places to expand my fan base and learn more about people from different places and how they receive me, my music and my performance. Music is a universal language and I wanna speak it any and everywhere I can. When door closes keep knocking til the right one opens. I’ve had many doors close. I kept knocking and when that didn’t work I created my own door where I hold the key and nobody can close it but me !!!
Remember No Risk No Reward. The chance you do not take may be the one you’ll never be given, the chance that can lead you to the opportunity that changes your life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting , We would go to one of my favorite roof top restaurants with an ocean view like the Vea in New Port Beach Califonia for food and cocktails. Then to fashion island one of my favorite shopping malls also in New Port Beach. Check into the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel For Dinner. Then Go to a nice lounge with live music. Next Day do it all over again In Los Angeles, or San Diego. But TIme find time to lay by the pool or on the beach.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people I wanna thank but I know I wont get to them all. I want to thank my friend and mentor Saye lah. He has been instrumental in the success of my career and has worked with many artist in the industry like Missy Elliot, MC Lyte , Usher and More. Big Big thanks to Ken Wilson , Colleen Wilson and Belinda Wilson notable music industry executives that have lent me their ears, their knowledge, advise and mentorship. They have been instrumental in success of some of the biggest music artist in world. Poppa Snoop (Vernell Varnado) , father of legendary Rap Icon Snoop Dogg and my very first manager. He was instrumental in securing my very first record deal with No Limit Records. I wanna shout out producers Jimmy Robinson, Ric Ricky Rude Lewis , Wes Joseph and Prince Nortey . Two of these producers produced my 2 top 40 radio charting Hits ” You’re The One”(Ric Rude) and “I wanna Know” (Wes Joseph) .I also wanna thank Al Gomes and his team who worked my Grammy Campaign for the record “Waitin For you” Written and produced by Wes Joseph , which I received official Grammy recognition for in 2023. Thank you Al for believing in the record. I want to give a HUGE thanks to Gary Alexander Jenkins whom was instrumental in signing Mary J Blige to Uptown in 1989 and said in his words “I haven’t felt this good about an Artist since Mary J Blige until he met Annyett Royale” right before his untimely death in 2020 while working on my project. He didn’t leave here without leaving a mark on my career and encouraging me to start my own label. Last but not least my Mommy!!! Thank for believing in me, showing up and investing in me even if no one else did. You are and have always been my biggest Fan.
