Meet Anthony Badami | Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Badami and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2022, my partner and I saved up and took three full weeks to explore Europe for the first time. We visited Spain, France, and lastly, ITALY, where my family immigrated from in the 1920’s. Once we arrived in our first Italian town, Cinque Terra, something was different. The people, the tastes, the ingredients, and the smells. We felt immediately transformed. Once I returned, I wanted to find a way to bring the essence of Italy into my daily routine, so I partnered up with my perfumist friend and we got to work on thoughtfully curated, scent-driven skin-care products that transported you to Italy or another far off land that you hold dear. So far we have launched a natural skincare line with Sandalwood, Rosemary, Eucalyptus notes and Sweet Sandalwood notes.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since I was young I have been intrigued by superheroes, specifically X-men. It was their confidence and costumes that inspired me to create not-so-normal accessories that bring confidence to any outfit. I’ve had some great opportunities working in the luxury industry and wanted to make beautiful quality pieces that are obtainable by a broader audience. All the items I design are prototyped by me and produced in small-batch production here in Los Angeles by local craftsmen.

For my new skincare line, I partnered with a long-time friend of mine. We collaborated in her kitchen to create beautiful, scent-driven apothecary products. Each item has a specific, unisex scent that transports you to a European spa right in your own bathroom. It was important for me to bring a little bit of Italy back to Los Angeles and Curativo is how I was able to do that. There were many challenges, frustrations, and even a couple of small allergic reactions but we did it and I couldn’t be more proud. We are now offering a skin and hair serum, charcoal sugar scrub, moisturizing, lightweight face cream, a vibrant face wash, and a volcanic stone natural diffuser.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve had a handful of friends and family who have always believed in me and my talents, but I was raised in a very conservative, rule-abiding community that didn’t dream big. In my 20’s I had to find support and encouragement from myself to step outside of the box, break some rules, and reach for the stars. In my career, I’ve had a few jobs that pushed me, creatively and showed me what I was capable of. I’ve experienced that a lot of people will not see or understand your vision or dream and that’s ok. It’s YOURS for a reason.
