We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Campusano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
GRIME started back in high school with my friends. It stands for growth really inspires me. We just wanted a collective to put our creativity under. My main goal for the brand is for it to be a one stop shop. I wanted to have a bunch of creatives and people I trust that I can work with. Sort of like an agency but really just a family.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been shooting photos for over 10 years now. I’ve met people that have given me amazing opportunity which helped me get to where I am now. They’ve made it easier for my art to reach the masses which allows me to inspire others. My main goal is and always has been to inspire others. To let others know that anything is possible. It’s what GRIME is rooted on.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a creative i always enjoy visiting the Broad or LACMA so I’d have to take my friend there for sure. The Observatory is always really dope, one of the best views of LA. Also being a big fan of fashion I’d go to Mel rose and show the clothing stores around there. As for food, I’d have to go to Bossanova. That’s easily one of my favorite restaurants in LA. Another good option is Tendergreens. You can’t go wrong with either one.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a few shoutouts to people in my life that have helped me get to where I am. My first one would go to my two bestfriend’s who were in a rap group while we were in high school. I started off taking photos with them and that led to us traveling the world and meeting people that would last a lifetime. Another one would be Khalid who pretty much continued my journey in becoming who I am as a creative and teaching me soo much. Lastly my family for always being supportive.
