We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Cannella and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I first began my career as a Realtor I was so enthusiastic about creating capital that I ending up making myself always available to my clients and ended up burning myself out. I knew I needed to come across energetic and excited in order to keep a professional and personal rapport with my clients . Showing up fatigued and unfocused was not going to be very productive for work. I realized that I needed to outsource some of the job details and give myself more time for self care. I hired a Transaction Coordinator to handle the paperwork and partnered up with a few other agents to offset my showing schedule so that I could have a steady and regular workout routine and occasional vacations. Once I found the balance between work and self care my business actually increased and I gained some peace of mind..

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I got my Real Estate license in 1999 and started working with a General Contractor flipping houses in mostly Northeast LA. This generated a steady income along with real estate clients buying and selling properties. It has been a highly competitive career and I believe if you keep an ethical posture along with compassion for the highly emotionally states of consciousness that my clients experience during a transaction then satisfaction and return business is ensured. Nobody wants to feel manipulated or coerced especially with such large amounts of money at stake. People want to be seen and heard regardless of the type of relationship. So I have made it a priority to be aware of all the factors involved especially people’s needs and feelings.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I definitely would take my friends on a few road trips less than 2 hours away from Metropolitan LA. Santa Inez for wine tasting. Palm Springs for the peaceful desert vibes. Hiking in Griffith Park. Going to the Arts District in DTLA for great restaurants and shopping. The Getty Museum for some classical art and LACMA for contemporary art. If there’s a great concert happening then either the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theater.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a huge shout out to my Father who instilled my work ethic into me and encouraged me to be an Eternal Student of Life. Always learning and always growing and being compassionate and inspiring along the way!
