We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Harris Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’m a personal trainer/performance specialist based in Los Angeles, CA. The thought process behind starting my own personal business was that I wanted to create something that would allow me to share and apply my passion with individuals. Building a business through being able to change others’ lives and help them become the best they can be, physically and mentally, was most of the motivation. On top of creating a schedule around my own time, personal training is something that came naturally and easily to me.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I was willing to bet on myself. I’m confident that the work I’m putting out is at a high-level. I’m constantly working to improve my craft. The work speaks for itself and so do the results of my clients.

The journey was not easy to get to this point. I started my business right after the global COVID pandemic. I trained at parks, homes, outside, etc: My passion allowed me to become resourceful and succeed by providing flexible opportunities to my clients.

I’ve learned along the way that each client has a different personality and training style. For you to have a successful relationship with your clients, you have to learn how to adapt in any environment and accommodate their needs.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a client were to come into town — there’s a few hiking spots I’d recommend.

Runyon, Fryman, Calabasas stairs, and Culver City stairs.

If they’re looking for a beach workout I’d say the sand dunes next to Malibu beach.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to credit Dr. Pat Kharizan, and Kobe Bryant being an inspiration for everything that I do. Dr. Pat was my doctor after my first injury while I was in college playing basketball. He treated me like family. 10 years later he gave me a shot and I ended up working with him as a strength trainer.

Kobe has inspired my career as a person in every aspect. From him being a hard worker, to his mantras, his hard work was inspiring to me.
