We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Tam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am originally from Malaysia. My family has been in the food and beverage industry for over 30 years. Growing up, I was raised in an environment where I was surrounded by people working hard and was also taught to take care of others.

These principles have stayed with me till today.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are an online and wholesale business specializing in crepe cakes and mini desserts. What sets us apart from others is the dedication we put into all the products we make.

I am most appreciative when customers are traveling from far away places to buy our cakes. I am very proud of my team, which makes things happen, and this excites me daily.

I think I am fortunate. My business has gained tremendous traction during the pandemic, and whatever we did during the first four years is finally coming to fruition.

It has never been easy since day one, as there are many uncertainties in running a business. I overcame the challenges by talking to clients, doing my due diligence, and trusting my gut feelings.

One of the lessons I have learned is to do things at your own pace. Different people grow at different rates. As long as you are improving each day and doing better than yesterday, you are already on the success path.

We want to be known as a Patisserie that delights clients with excellent experiences and high-quality desserts that they are proud to share with others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1 and 2 – Napa Valley (Bouchon Bistro, visit wineries)

Day 3 – Muirwoods National Monument/Sausalito (hiking at the national park, and have meals at Sausalito downtown)

Day 4 – Pier 39/Fisherman Wharf/Chinatown SF (Kusakabe for Omakase, Thanh Long for Vietnamese food, Mourad for Moroccan fusion)

Day 5 and 6 – Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay (Monterey Bay Aquarium, Santa Cruz boardwalk)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
1) My family 2) Andrew Ly
