Meet Apollo Davar | Artist and Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Apollo Davar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Apollo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I started to pursue a career in music and promotions because I wanted to make a positive impact in my community. I want to be able to give artists and other creatives like myself a space to do what they do best. Music was a way I could define myself on my own terms as well. I always want to give people something they can vibe to whether that be through hosting my own shows or writing my own music. That’s why I started the brand Cali Avenue which means creatives always live infinitely.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Before I started my company Cali Avenue I was a rap artist first. The thing I believe that sets me apart from other artists is my sound is very unique. When you put on an Apollo Davar track it sounds like no one else, which means I come with a sense of authenticity that’s hard to come by in rap and hip hop nowadays. My work ethic is also unmatched I wake up everyday with a sense of urgency because I want everyone to see that the grind never stops. I’m always constantly making goals and doing things to try to become better then I was yesterday. One of my songs that I’m most proud and excited about is the one that is about to drop with Rick Ross. It lets me see how far I’ve came and all the work I’ve done to get to this point in my career. I got to this point in my career with a lot of hard work and dedication. The path was not easy because I’ve had so many doubts throughout making music. I’ve also gone through a lot of things that would possibly be traumatic to others looking from the outside but I used that as fuel to create better music. Sometimes we have to go through the hardships in life in order to come out stronger with a better mentality. I overcame challenges because I always knew the pain that I was feeling was temporary to reach the success that I wanted. I’ve learned to never give up on yourself because a lot of times when the road get tough there are some of us that want to quit but if you give yourself time to grow into who you were meant to be then nothing will be able to stop you. Life is what we make it we can choose to sit and pout or get up and do something about our goals. I want everyone to know you can achieve whatever you set your mind to consistency is one of the keys to success. My brand Cali Avenue that I started with Todd stands for Creatives Always Live Infinitely. We are trying to build a platform for other creative to express themselves. We also want to give back to our community by giving them events to enjoy and bringing people together.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take them to our events and show them how we constantly give back to other artists. I wouldn’t so much have an itinerary because I am a spur of the moment kind of person. I believe that we have the most fun when we aren’t worrying about a specific schedule. I often use Yelp to find the best places to eat and party. We would probably just use that resource and I would ask them what are some things they would like to do as opposed to me planning out the whole week. That way they could have a choice instead of me picking exactly were to go.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to My wife first a foremost for helping me to be a better person and for pushing me to continue to grow. I also want to thank my boy Khern$ for believing in my success throughout the years. Another person I thank is Todd for rocking with me to make our brand Cali Avenue possible. Another person who helped me on this journey was Tizzle Kidd Fitz he helped me by shooting all my music videos and giving me content that I could share on my platform. The last shout out I want to give is to Danny Zico my engineer he has made my music sound on point and continues to record some of my best music.
