We had the good fortune of connecting with ‘Arah Wainwright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ‘Arah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

Fleur de Lis Luxury Braiding Company began as a means to provide a sustainable living for my daughter. It eventually  became my revolution as a single mother rising from the ashes of economic whiplash of a pandemic and a consciousness of poverty. Fleur de Lis is the world’s first luxury braiding company and a revolution in the cultural arts and history of natural hair and braiding.

I worked really hard in all of my day jobs and I knew that I had purpose, I knew that I had drive and ambition. I struggled to keep everything and in balance as a single mother;  I never had quite enough time to work on building on my dream to serve my purpose in the world. When the pandemic arose I stood wildly ambitious at the tide and hit the ground running to create my monument in history.

I refused to allow the heat of a lash devour my self esteem and place me in the condition of despair and hopelessness. Those valleys were familiar to me and I refused to go back to those depths. I had been on my own since I was 17 years old, raising my daughter on my own, fighting to survive and suffering the conditions of the world around me.

I knew that there was no way that I could just sit back and wait around for that same world to change; so I started working on building my business to change the world in me. I pulled in resources to support and stepped out to start what would become The World’s First Luxury Braiding Company. I wanted to teach self esteem and coach young women how to liberate themselves from their painful realities and in shifting my world I realized I was always fighting for the young woman inside of myself as well as those who would come after me.

Fleur de Lis Luxury Braiding Company is my dream and my purpose is fulfilled through providing a revolutionized braiding experience that educates and empowers women to value their natural beauty and intentional wellness.

My dream was fulfilled by my purpose to empower women, to educate them on how to increase their sense of self worth and value themselves enough to work towards total life fulfillment to reach their greatest potential outcomes. I dreamed of being a role model and teaching young women formal etiquette and protocol. I wanted to show up for the next generation in ways that I had not experienced growing up.

Through my business I have developed a transformationa braiding experience that fosters new belief systems and reprograms a new awareness for my clients that meets her worth with a one on one sacred hair care experience that empowers her divine being.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

It was one of the greatest challenges set before me to overcome the conditions of the world and still be brave enough to go after my dreams and start a business during the pandemic. No one knew how to lead us through it and help us to believe that there would be light at the end of the tunnel. It was my extreme faith that brought me out of the storm and that which was enlightened within me was the light that brought me through it.

My faith has always been something really sacred to me and is a very personal part of my character and the foundation of my integrity system. To me, faith means working toward a desired outcome without knowing whether or not there will be a reward on the other side. My faith has persevered through every challenge and I have come to rely on it as my navigation system and wherever I am challenged in my faith; I know there will be the reward of peace at the end and more importantly, I believe it.

I worked on faith that I would have enough clients to cover my living expenses to get me through each month and I worked towards the goal of peace, the financial goals were established and I put my faith in God and it happened every time and then some. Eventually I was booked out a month in advance and today, I generate a healthy salary from the extraordinary belief in my dream with my purpose.

One of the most important lessons I have learned is that we have the power to develop and achieve our greatest potential outcomes and we have the power to believe in ourselves enough to accomplish anything we put our minds to do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I would absolutely take my best friend to a beautiful beachfront home in Malibu , the beach is so divine and clear in essence and provides such a beautiful amount of peace to the soul.

The last time I was there I saw a family of dolphins and it was purely magical. Just steps away there is a beautiful temple garden to walk through for prayer and serenity called The Lakeshrine Temple and lots of wonderful dining spaces to go and enjoy warm meals and graceful service at the restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dez Davis is an extraordinary transformational wealth mentor and serves as a pillar in my breakthrough of liberating myself from many conditions of suffering; from generational wounds, low expectations and severe states of economic trauma. She is a brilliant coach and was also the first person to ever believe in me and the revolution that was happening through me. Her teachings were life altering and she motivated me to take executive authority over my life. Working with her methods brought me to a state of consciousness that helped me to create a life that empowered both my ministry and a sustainable business.
