We had the good fortune of connecting with Arman Gevorgyan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arman, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
As an interior designer, one aspect of the industry that outsiders might not be aware of is the extensive amount of research and technical knowledge required behind each project.

Interior design is not just about aesthetics and making spaces look attractive; it involves a deep understanding of space planning, building codes, and accessibility standards.

Designers need to be well-versed in materials, sustainability practices, and often have to work closely with architects and contractors to ensure that the design is not only visually appealing but also functional, safe, and compliant with all regulations.

Additionally, staying updated with the latest design trends, software, and technologies is a crucial part of the job that is often underestimated.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an interior designer, my art revolves around transforming spaces into aesthetically pleasing, functional, and personalized environments that reflect my clients’ tastes and needs. What sets me apart is my commitment to blending functionality with style. I prioritize understanding each client’s unique lifestyle, which allows me to create designs that are not only beautiful but also practical and sustainable.

I am most proud of my ability to bring a sense of harmony and balance to any space, regardless of its size or function. My designs often incorporate elements of nature, with a focus on creating calming and restorative spaces. I believe in the power of design to enhance well-being, and this philosophy is central to my work.

Getting to where I am today was not easy. The journey involved constant learning, adapting to market trends, and overcoming various challenges, especially in client management and staying financially viable in a competitive industry. I overcame these challenges by being resilient, continuously upskilling, and building a strong network of mentors and industry peers.

One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of clear communication with clients and collaborators. Understanding their vision and managing expectations from the outset has been crucial for project success. Another lesson is the significance of staying true to my creative vision while also being adaptable to client needs and market changes.

I want the world to know that my brand stands for thoughtful, sustainable, and client-focused design. Each project is a new story, a new challenge, and a new opportunity to create something unique. My brand is about creating spaces that not only look good but also feel good and function well, ultimately enhancing the lives of those who inhabit them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In the spirit of the Shoutout series, I’d like to recognize several key influences that have played a significant role in my journey:

My family and close friends deserve immense recognition. Their belief in my vision and constant encouragement, especially during challenging times, were fundamental to my perseverance and success.

Clients: Last but not least, my clients deserve a shoutout. Their diverse needs and challenges have been the driving force behind my creativity and innovation. The trust they place in me to transform their spaces is both humbling and motivating.

Each of these peoples, in their own way, contributed to my growth, resilience, and success as an interior designer.
Their collective impact has been a cornerstone of my professional journey.
