We had the good fortune of connecting with Artrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Artrell, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Just trusting God and trusting the process of the art career just like I trust the process of a painting. At times especially with art it’s going to look and seem like it’s not going to work out but you have to keep painting and grinding out those late painting nights and believing that you’re big blessing is coming. Along with faith and believing you also have to just create as much as possible and stay in the art mix, networking with other artists and potentially buyers as well. Talking to folks is something us artists try to stay away from but to have a successful art career we must engage and talk and communicate with the buyers not just with the painting but talk

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a what I feel is a rare type of acrylic crosshatching art that because crosshatching is not something a painter would normally do but I feel this is my style that sets me apart from other painters. I’m most proud of my growth in general as an artist, not just the growth in my art skills but my art business skills, etc etc. Getting to this point was definitely not easy , a lot of long nights and hard work. Especially researching; I often joke around about how much more studying and reading I’ve done as an artist but it’s no joke. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is really respecting and taking time into your craft if you really want it and it’s going be a long ride but if you want it you going to go for it. I just want to the world to know that ArTrell came into the art world and was different

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being in Southern California it’s easy to find something fun to do or find something good to eat. I’m not necessarily a picky person to continuously eat at the same place so I would just suggest going to your Downtown areas for food and drinks; especially for good music and vibes as well. I would definitely recommend going to the beach areas as well , who doesn’t like the sun and beach breeze. If you want to have some we definitely have the amusement parks for all your thrill seeking needs

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
With Mother’s Day passing I think it’s only appropriate to shout out my mom for always supporting me in my art career. From being the only person to show up at some of my earlier art shows and current but also just having my back behind the scenes of the art career and pushing me to keep painting and keep goin
