We had the good fortune of connecting with Artūras Asakavičius and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Artūras, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I couldn’t believe that the event venue and vendor discovery and booking experience still felt like using the Yellow Pages. I thought this was not how the new generation is used to discovering and booking services. We want to see all prices transparently and immediately! This is why we love platforms like Airbnb, Booking.com, and flight ticket booking portals. I was strongly convinced that the market is ready for a modern solution, and that people want it.

What should our readers know about your business?
Breezit.com is an event venue discovery and booking platform operating in California. With over 3,000 event venues listed, it offers the largest selection of venues in the state. It is also the only platform in the market that provides accurate pricing information for each venue based on your event date, guest count, and B&F package selection. Breezit saves you months of time finding and booking your event venue.

Starting a technology company that aims to disrupt the market and dethrone the giants (a.k.a. competitors) is one of the biggest bets you can make in your career. In our case, we’re going after billion-dollar companies that take advantage of venue operators and event vendors.

When building a tech company, you’re constantly taking risks in every aspect of the business—some bets pay off, and others don’t. The most important thing is not to be too hard on yourself, quickly reflect on what happened, and move on to the next bet.

The transparency we bring to the market allows customers to discover services based on accurate and clear pricing for any given calendar day, guest count, and service package composition. People planning events love it because it saves them so much time, and they can quickly determine what they can afford or what they may still need to save up for. With Breezit they don’t need to send inquiries to vendors, wait days to get answers, and learn that some services are outside their budget.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting LA, I’d want them to experience the bold, creative energy that makes this city so exciting. LA is full of contrast—gritty and glamorous, fast-paced but full of hidden corners where time slows down. That’s what makes it special.

We’d start at Venice Beach, then head to Malibu for coastal views and dinner at Nobu. We’d hike Griffith Park, visit The Broad and MOCA, and catch live music at The Hollywood Bowl. Food-wise, Bestia, Bavel, and a Koreatown crawl are always on the list.

I’d also take them to tour a few of the stunning wedding venues we feature on Breezit. LA is home to some of the most architecturally and creatively inspiring spaces in California, and seeing them in person is always a “wow” moment. Even if you’re not planning a wedding, you walk away inspired.

LA wasn’t where we started Breezit—but it’s one of the places where our mission really comes to life. It’s a city full of dreamers who don’t wait for permission. That mindset is core to how I work and why Breezit exists.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. This is one of my favorite novels, following Howard Roark, an architect who refuses to conform to traditional designs and compromises his vision for the sake of others. However, this book shows how important it is to stay firm in your ideas and never give them up due to social pressure.
