We had the good fortune of connecting with Arturo Macias Sanchez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Arturo, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Since I was young, I’ve always been fascinated with music. I’ve always wondered what it took to create the songs I would hear on the radio, I’d sit and try to find each instrument that was in a song. The fascination structure realizing how every instrument put together could create such amazing sounds, made me want to learn more. I went on to study music, but I didn’t stop there I decided to open up my own business/ Label ; “ Kanashii L.L.C” . It will allow me to be around music all the time and also help break into the music industry. And keep on growing my love for the art.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
For me being an artist was always about being different. I went through the different stages as I grew and as I continued my journey to find my self. Previously known as Arthur Sanchez, which that image/ brand helped me officially find my self and conclude who I really was and from that Kanashii was born. What separates Kanashii from the rest is the sound. Kanashii doesn’t settle for one sound or tone, he wants his fans to be able to come back to a different sound all the time. It wasn’t easy getting here, I had to go through different stages and also many obstacles such as learning how the music industry works, which is something many artists should take sometime to at least know the basics so they don’t get played in the future. I want the world to get to know who Kanashii is, he wants to show all of the upcoming struggling artists that they can do anything if they really put their mind to it, you don’t need the fancy things nor outfits. Just be yourself. Kanashii is not only a name but a brand who stands with everyone whose been or who is where I was before. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. Keep on going.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, they’ve always been supporting me from the start. Every little push has helped shaped me to be who i am. And the struggles also, I come from a poor family. Struggle made me stronger and capable of taking on the obstacles that lied ahead.
