Meet Ashley Eaves | Entrepreneur/ Owner & CEO of Blue Skye’s and Co., LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Eaves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
While starting my business Blue Skye’s and Co. I envisioned creating a luxury brand for all to embrace in their personal spaces. I also wanted to build something that I could pass onto my daughter, Aubrey Skye. I knew that starting this business would take a lot of time, money, and trial and error; but I was determined. I have always enjoyed burning candles in my home, especially candles that have very unique scents. After months of testing different waxes, fragrance oils, and cotton wicks; I had finally created the perfect formula to launch this business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, of course I was not always titled as an entrepreneur. I have a background in retail sales and high-end brand management. After leaving the retail sales industry, I have had many obstacles on this journey to success. I believe that the most challenging aspect of it all has been pushing through as a single mother. Because it is solely just me raising my daughter, I have no choice other than to keep persevering through life. My daughter witnesses my drive and determination everyday. Skye looks up to me, and with that alone, I will never let her down. I have learned many lessons along the way, and the main lesson has been to always trust in myself, and to be confident and consistent with my work. I want the world to know that no matter what obstacles have been thrown in your direction, there is nothing that can prevent you from being able to push through adversity. I want my story to be an example that all things are possible.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My idea of an exciting time with my best friend is taking a drive down the Gold Coast and heading into the city of Chicago. Of course we are going to stay at a luxury hotel, preferably Nobu. Once we get settled into our room, we would check out all of the Chicago bucket list activities and select one to do each day for the week. The activities I would select for us would include visiting Navy Pier, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and maybe hitting up a comedy club such as the Laugh Factory. What’s a fun time without going to the club? We would enjoy nightlife at a few spots like TAO, or something more relaxed like having drinks at the Hoxton. We would also crave on some of the most amazing food from the prime restaurants that Chicago has to offer. My top picks are Gino and Marty’s, Alla Vita, Trivolli Tavern, and Boka. Finally, we would end the week with a spa day at the Langham. C’mon, let’s go!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my success and shoutout to my mom, Gina Hill. My mother is the guiding light that I have always needed in my life. She, like myself, is a single-mother; and I have always admired her. From the way she dresses to how she carries herself as a woman is all embodied within me. I do not believe that I would be the successful woman that I am today without her in my life.
