We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Nicole and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, why did you pursue a creative career?
I think the main reason why I wanted to do a career that allows me to be creative. was because it’s the only thing that felt right to me. Everything else I tried to do, never gave me the satisfaction and happiness that filmmaking gives me.
Making a story come to life, and seeing all your passion and hard work come together in the end.
Surely gives me a feeling of completion.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
well, I still have a long way to go. And much more to do in the future, I feel like a lesson I learned as of last year. Was to take things slow, and not to expect everything to happen so quickly. I’ve found that I have been having more ideas come to me naturally, now that I’ve been taking it easy.
I don’t experience burnout anymore like I did before, it’s a good feeling to be free from that.
Everything comes so easily.
And so far it’s been easy going for me, I’ve also started to work with different people on my short films. Which is something I wanted to do. I’m glad I’m finally expanding to others.
And honestly, that’s what makes a film special to me. It’s the people you work with, the ones who add the finishing touches. Make things come alive.
I want the world to know, that you can build something even from nothing. I still have a lot of building to do, but I’m getting there. Nothing really sets me apart from others, but If I had to say it would be the way I think.
We all think differently. Especially when creating something.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve always wanted to go to California, if I’d happen to be there. I would spend my days at the beach, especially when the sunsets.
Take in everything.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a lot of things and people that encourage me to put my heart into every project I do. But most recently, it’s been a song called “on the wings of a nightingale” by the Everly brothers.
It Inspired my current new project I’m working on called “The purple monkey” from the first time I heard that song, it’s just been an inspiration for me to make this film.
I also listen to it over and over again, every single angle day. There’s just something about that song that drives me.
