We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlie Crystal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashlie, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I chose a creative path because it allows me to live in alignment with who I’ve always been. I chose this route because it genuinely brings me happiness and feels authentic to me. Being creative has been a fundamental part of my identity for as long as I can remember, from childhood to now. Long before it became a career, creating was my way of expressing myself, processing emotions, and understanding the world around me.

Over time, I realized that creativity isn’t just something I do; it’s how I connect with others and reflect the energy of the present moment. Whether through design, music, modeling, or fashion, everything flows easily when I create, helping me craft experiences that make people feel seen, confident, and inspired.

Choosing a creative path wasn’t easy, but it felt right. I’m driven by growth and transformation, watching myself evolve through the process, and how creating pushes me forward while inspiring others in meaningful ways.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art blends fashion, music, and visual expression in a way that feels natural and intuitive. What sets me is how naturally these worlds blend for me; nothing feels forced or isolated. My ability to move fluidly between these worlds while staying grounded in authenticity. Everything I create comes from lived experience, intuition, and a deep connection to culture. I’m most proud of remaining true to my vision while allowing it to evolve. I don’t try to fit into one box; I let my work grow as I do.

Professionally, my journey has been multi-layered and unconventional. I attended three universities and earned two fashion degrees, which provided me with a strong technical foundation and taught me adaptability. One of the most defining moments in my life was moving to Milan. Living there shaped my perspective, discipline, and confidence, ultimately making me who I am today. Being surrounded by such a vibrant, creative environment motivated me to take my work seriously and trust my instincts.

It wasn’t always easy, but it was always rewarding. There were moments of uncertainty, starting over, and learning things the hard way, but those experiences made me stronger. I learned to be resilient, to trust my vision even when it wasn’t immediately understood, and to keep going without needing constant validation. I’ve learned so much along the way that I genuinely feel like I could write a book about it.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that my work comes from authenticity and passion. My story is about growth, dedication, and choosing creativity even when the path isn’t linear. Everything I do is deliberate, rooted in experience, and driven by a love for creating something meaningful. I look forward to continuing to build, evolve, and share that journey with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting LA for a week, I’d want to show them both the city’s energy and soul. We’d start at Venice Beach, roller-skating along the boardwalk, people-watching, and soaking up the creativity and chaos that make LA feel alive. Venice is pure freedom and expression, and it sets the tone right away.

Another must is the Los Angeles Fashion District. I love walking through DTLA, pulling inspiration from fabrics, designers, and the raw creative hustle that exists there. It’s one of those places where you really feel how fashion, culture, and ambition intersect.

Food is non-negotiable. I’d take them to Javier’s for classic Mexican food and strong margaritas, then do a night of Japanese BBQ, something interactive, fun, and social, like Gyu-Kaku. LA’s food scene is such a huge part of the experience.

At night, I’d take them to an after-hours spot for proper techno, something underground, immersive, and high-energy. That’s where you really meet the city’s creative community: DJs, designers, artists, and people who live for music and self-expression.

To me, the most exciting parts of LA aren’t just specific places; they’re the people and the energy. The artists are building something from nothing, the underground scenes, late nights, and the constant feeling that anything can happen. LA is inspiring because it rewards curiosity, individuality, and movement, and that’s exactly what I’d want my best friend to experience.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to start by giving a shoutout to my parents first and foremost. They have supported me in everything I do and have always believed in me, even when the path I chose wasn’t the most traditional. Knowing I have their encouragement and trust has given me the confidence to keep going and fully commit to my creative journey.

I also want to acknowledge my mentor, MC Chasson, who I consider my fashion father. He’s guided me, taught me invaluable lessons, and consistently believes in me. Having someone who sees your potential and takes the time to invest in you makes a huge difference, and I’m incredibly grateful for his presence in my life.

Overall, I’m thankful for the people who show up for me, support my creativity, and encourage me to keep moving forward. Their belief in me means everything, and I’m excited for what the future holds.
