Meet Ashton Burns | DJ Entertainer/Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashton Burns and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashton, what role has risk played in your life or career?
As far as taking risks. I look at everything first as commit first and worry about the rest later because if you don’t sometimes you can get lost into your thought and you will end up not taking a risk. Therefore , I’ll rather commit first and worry about everything else when the time comes.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Party With Ash B, LLC is an entertainment/DJ service.

The start of my business began during my undergraduate college experience at the illustrious University of North Carolina Central University. I completed my degree in Business Administration and being the business man that I am, I invested $300 into my business and purchased turntables and that was the start of my journey. I have always thoroughly enjoyed entertaining people so I put my name out there and involved myself in events on and around campus and here I am now, many years later, a successful business owner with many personal and professional connections.

By far, it has not been the easiest but it has been the most rewarding experience and has influenced the person I am today. Whenever I faced challenges, I would take a step back and do a lot of self-evaluation. I always knew that I wanted to be able to give back to my family the same way that they provided for me. So, during those difficult times I would think of my purpose of developing a business and how far it has gotten me to achieving those goals.

What sets me apart from others is the quality experience that you are provided during my services. Every song that I play is with purpose. I ensure that my clients and their guests are having the time of their life by taking them through years of favorable music. Party With Ash B, LLC strives to go above and beyond providing “bring me back” services to all patrons.

Overall, the most important lesson that I have learned along the way is to not fear failure. Failure is combined with several life lessons..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had to give my buddy a tour of the city, showing them spots around the city I would most definitely show them “Boxyard”. Boxyard is located in the heart of Durham. It consists of several different small businesses from shopping stores to food and games. Next we will head over to “Simon Says Dip This”. This is my favorite ice cream spot where they dip your ice cream (cup or cone) in different hard shell flavors and you get to choose your toppings. The absolute best place. For dinner we are going to grab sushi and drinks at “Sushi Blues” located in Downtown Raleigh. One of the best sushi spots you will ever have. Lastly, we would end the night at “Havana Deluxe” my favorite cigar lounge. Great vibes all night!!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I must give a major shoutout to God for his favor and allowing me to still be relevant for over 7 years plus

If there is one person that deserves recognition for my success over the years, it would be my mother. I am very thankful for my mother instilling important values such as confidence in me from a very young age. Being confident in everything I do has allowed me to apply those same values in my career, knowing that I can do anything I set my mind to.
