We had the good fortune of connecting with Atsuna Matsui and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Atsuna, how does your business help the community?
My mission is to nurture the inner child in all of us through the art of play.

As adults, we often forget how vital play is to our well-being and creativity. But when I’m having fun, I’m in my most authentic and inspired flow state. Much of the content I create centers around unboxing mystery toys, exploring arts and crafts, and encouraging others to rediscover joy, creativity, and a sense of magic in their everyday lives.

I leverage my platform to promote positive self-improvement and address social issues, particularly focusing on foster youth. My content aims to inspire personal growth and societal awareness. My personal brand carries a meaningful social impact, particularly in how it encourages my audiences to nurture their inner child, heal from past wounds, and embrace authentic self-expression. By modeling emotional transparency, I empower others—especially women—to own their emotional narratives rather than hide them behind curated perfection and create a safe space to explore themes of comfort, belonging, and self-love.

My content encourages people to embrace their whimsical or sentimental sides, which are often suppressed in adulthood and spreading the message that the art of play is essential for inner healing. My brand inspires people tor reconnect with their most gentle, creative selves and prioritize emotional healing and authenticity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey began with a passion for visual arts, which led me to establish a personal style blog in March 2015. This platform allowed me to document my fashion choices and travel experiences, eventually evolving into a comprehensive lifestyle brand. My content showcased a minimalistic yet chic aesthetic, reflecting my Los Angeles roots and affinity for year-round warm weather. As I evolved as a person, so did the subject matter of my content. I transitioned from photography to video to tell more thoughtful and intentional stories. Over time, I pivoted from beauty and fashion content to fictitious, skit-based videos designed to make people laugh.

YouTube is now my primary platform, where I share unfiltered vlogs that prioritize transparency and authenticity with my audience. My channel is a vibrant blend of lifestyle content that celebrates kawaii aesthetics, cozy living, and nostalgic themes. As a California native with roots in Kyoto, I enjoy bringing a unique cultural perspective to my videos. My content often explores kawaii and Y2K decor and collectibles; shares daily routines and personal reflections; and features arts and crafts, unboxings, and DIY projects.

With over 3 million subscribers and a growing presence in the YouTube community, my channel offers a cozy and inspiring space for viewers interested in creative expression and nostalgic content. My career exemplifies the fusion of creativity and purpose, demonstrating how personal branding can be a vehicle for both artistic expression and meaningful social change.

His work resonates deeply with me as a creative seeking to align my inner purpose with meaningful action in my art. I recommend every creative read Guillaume Wolf’s book—especially You Are a Dream—because it reconnects you with your “why.” Guillaume reminds you that your creativity isn’t just about output or performance—it’s about purpose, healing, and presence.
