We had the good fortune of connecting with Audrey Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Audrey, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I do not believe there is just one  factor that can be attributed to success in something. It really is an array of actions and qualities in a person that will lead to successes big and small. In regards to my process so far, I have found success when I “do it anyway” regardless of insecurities, lack of motivation and not being confident of the outcome. The “do it anyway” mentality builds confidence in yourself and confidence in others that may want to be part of your team. I believe 95% of the time you have nothing to lose. If anything you will probably gain something..for example, reaching out 10 times to people you want to network with or learning a new song that might not be in your exact wheelhouse and posting it to your media…it all counts. I have heard from others and experienced myself that “the music” in the music business is only a fraction of the whole picture and the rest truly is BUSINESS and in order to be in business you have to take chances and be relentless.

My personality bent has always been to overthink things and not even try or be disciplined to do what I got to do in fear that it won’t make a difference. Again so far in my experience, that’s all I have to truly go by. I have liked my outcomes over time by not over thinking the “what ifs” and just “doing it anyway”.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I want the world to know about me and my story is that it still has room to grow and develop. I wear my heart on my sleeve and am pretty transparent. I don’t hide my emotions too well. Which has been a strength just as much as it’s been a weakness. That is where my “girl next door” mentality comes from. It’s about as real as it gets for me. When I’m feeling happy I’m happy when I’m feeling sad I’m sad…that applies to all feelings, even the complicated ones i.e. a mix of them all at once. The worst kind! lol My goal is to be as consistent as possible with myself and others while I continue to grow and change organically and hopefully always for the better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
What a fun question….Truly I haven’t lived in LA long enough to have a favorite anything yet…I should be asking you that question haha but overall my friends and I love a little bit of everything! A little bit of adventure, relaxation, food, and entertainment makes for the best time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have so many people to thank…I  would rather not pick just one person, but since that is not an option. THIS time I will dedicate this shoutout to my Aunt and Uncle; Dave and Ann Mann. They are true role models of grace, generosity, and strategy. I am sure they would laugh at me using the word strategy, but they are both brilliant humans who create the best power couple and are generous with their knowledge, time and support. Love you guys!!
