We had the good fortune of connecting with Audrey Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Audrey, what do you want your legacy to be?
Being the one others rely on isn’t always easy, but it’s a role I embrace with purpose. That’s why I’m passionate about building a legacy that supports the economic needs of women. As “The Number Fairy”, I conduct economic research and grant writing to fund programs and services to support women. Single moms, college students, and women entrepreneurs are powerful leaders who give back in unbelievable ways. So, I want to be remembered as someone who had the courage to speak up and highlight the economic needs of women — because our strength deserves support and our sacrifices deserves recognition.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Number Fairy is a consulting firm dedicated to helping nonprofits and women entrepreneurs access the funding they need to thrive. We specialize in economic research and grant writing. What sets us apart is our ability to blend analytical insights with creative strategy.

Business began organically through word-of-mouth after my entrepreneurial friends began to ask me for help with their bookkeeping. What began as bookkeeping tasks evolved into something much bigger. And, when non-profits faced funding cuts, I took the initiative to find funding for them. I saw a clear need for guidance, resources, and community. I launched the Grant Funding Community to share funding resources with women entrepreneurs.

Pivoting from bookkeeping to grant writing wasn’t easy. It challenged me to grow not just in skills, but in vision. I am building a community where transparency fuels financial empowerment. I don’t just write grants; I help organizations tell powerful stories backed by data, strategy, and purpose.

At the core of The Number Fairy is the belief of economic abundance according to the gospel of Jesus Christ. My mission is to help others see that too! There is funding available to support those doing meaningful work.
To every nonprofit, single mother, student, and entrepreneur out there: stay focused, stay encouraged, and don’t give up. The funding is out there. And, you are worthy of receiving it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely! I want to take this opportunity to shoutout myself because I seldomly stop and acknowledge how far I’ve come. My entrepreneurial journey has not been a smooth, straight line. It has been filled with twists, setbacks, hard choices, and moments of deep uncertainty. Yet and still, I pushed myself through the pain of my insecurities. I want to credit myself for every problem I solved, every story I applied, and every time I pushed myself beyond my perceived limitations. As a former foster youth, I was made to believe that I would become a statistic. But despite all odds, I stayed true to my goals and to my values. I am thankful that I consistently make the choice to grow into the kind of leader that I believe in.
