We had the good fortune of connecting with Austin Arrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austin, what do you attribute your success to?
I think the most important factor to the success of our brand is our ability to focus on the goals of our clients without sacrificing our company’s mission and vision.

What should our readers know about your business?
PLANT Group is a team of designers, ecologists, and engineers building systems to connect humans with nature. I think what separates us from our competition is our ability to synthesize technology and boots-on-the-ground action for environmental-social impact.

I am most proud about the work we are doing to bring edible landscapes to low-income communities.

PLANT Group was founded in 2016. Our success to date is based on building long-term relationships with our clients and partners, and continuing to diversify our offerings in order to bring new types of value. It has not always been easy. 2020 was a tough year and COVID-19 negatively impacted our business. However, coming out of that we found new opportunities to build outdoor spaces and experiences — and 2021 has been our best year to date revenue wise.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love hiking on Altadena Crest Trail in Eaton Canyon. This is where I go to unplug and connect with nature. The view is gorgeous!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout by wife BB. Her love and belief in me has given me the support to become an entrepreneur and make a living through my passions.
