Meet Azucena (Bibi) Flores Pizaña

We had the good fortune of connecting with Azucena (Bibi) Flores Pizaña and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Azucena (Bibi), is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
Working in the entertainment industry takes effort, dedication, and self-belief every single day. It’s not just about performing — it’s about creating your own projects, building a support system, and often juggling side jobs just to pay the bills. Being part of this industry is like being an entrepreneur every day: constantly building and sometimes reinventing your “company” multiple times a year. It’s a daily choice — showing up fully, even with a broken heart, low motivation, or on days you feel like you can’t, and finding joy in the process despite the constant challenges and rejection.
For me, it’s all about showing up, staying curious, and finding joy in the process, no matter how challenging it gets.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I truly believe that everyone brings something special to this industry — our backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives shape who we are and what we can offer. That uniqueness is what makes each actor different, no matter where we come from.
This past year, as a newly graduated actor, I’ve focused on creating my own projects, going to castings, and finding opportunities. I don’t have representation yet, but that hasn’t stopped me from challenging and putting myself out there, proving every day that I can go after my dreams. Even on days when I feel lost or unsure, I keep moving forward, taking a deep breath, and continuing the journey.
I’ve also grown a lot in my craft, working in both contemporary and classical pieces, including Shakespeare — something I never imagined I’d get to do. Performing classical text has been a big milestone for me, and I’m proud of the growth it represents.
The journey hasn’t been easy, especially mentally. Fear, doubt, and tough choices can sometimes make you feel stuck. I’ve learned that these moments can cloud your perspective and make it feel like you’re just checking boxes instead of enjoying your work and dreams. Through it all, I’ve learned to keep discovering and choosing myself and my craft with the help and support of my community.
Ultimately, every day is a choice — to choose this career, to keep dreaming without pressure, and to keep exploring who I am as an artist and a person. That’s what I want the world to know about me: that I show up fully, stay curious, and embrace the journey, no matter the obstacles.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone’s visiting LA, I’d definitely recommend going to the Griffith Observatory, doing a hike, and then grabbing a coffee at Trails — it’s this little café right by the entrance of the park. It’s super chill, you can sit outside surrounded by nature, enjoy a pastry, and just hang out, chat, or read a book (there’s not much signal, so it’s kind of perfect for unplugging).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to thank my family, friends, work supervisors, and the AOA community — your support and belief in me have been such an important part of my journey, and I’m so grateful.
