Meet B Line Dot | Artists & Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with B Line Dot and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi B, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think as I’ve grown up risk has become more of a factor. Early on I took more risks because I was really trying to figure out what worked. Even though not everything was hugely successful it taught me that taking those risks was worth it. I rarely have to spend any energy on what if. Now that we have more of a formula and we’ve carved out a path we still take risks but they are a bit more calculated.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s been a long road that has really flown by. I still remember selling canvases for enough to afford dinner for the night. Looking back I made and sold a lot of art for just enough. I never had a backup plan it was art or nothing. The goal was never money or recognition, the goal was happiness. I’m so grateful that it has worked out and I still feel like there is so much more to do. I think what sets me apart as an artist is more about who I am as a person. I don’t want to be defined by my art so I’m not tied to any one thing. I like to create. I love painting, but I also love writing, I love fashion, playing music, I love design. I love making things. I never want to be just one thing. If I’m defined by anything I want it to be how I treated others at every interaction. Even on my worst days I want to be kind. Myself and my brand are passionate about people and making beautiful things.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Seattle-
Coffee – Vita at KEXP, Santo, Elm Coffee Roasters, General Porpoise
Brunch – Sabine, Mischief Distillery
Lunch – Honey Hole, Plum Chopped, lil’ Woody’s
Dinner – Matsu, Kizuki Ramen, Stone, Sup Shop
Drinks – Bad Bishop, Liberty Bar, The Marble Room
Places to hang – Jupiter Bar, Temple Billiards, Nuemos
Things to see – Kerry Park, Ferry Ride Bainbridge, Pike Place Market, Mariners game

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout list wouldn’t fit. I have so many friends and family members that have been there for me. Rooting for me and supporting all of my wild ideas. We’ve had a blast. However, if I had to choose just one it would be my mom. She’s invested so heavily in me without really even knowing what I was doing. She just believed in me and that has made all the difference.
