We had the good fortune of connecting with BALAZS TITKOS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BALAZS, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I decided to start my own business because of my passion for art and design. I wanted to take my 20+ year furniture design background and create pieces that were contemporary and unique. My focus is on creating high quality pieces that “wow” people and make them feel good about having these items in their space.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m proud of the entire experience of designing furniture – everything from the idea phase to the final outcome excites me and I’m glad to be able to enjoy making pieces that others love as well. Making furniture is fairly easy for me because I actually really enjoy my craft and with years of experience. I can now anticipate any challenges on that maybe on the horizon. I’ve learned the importance of keeping on par with current design trends, but also remembering to not become too trend focused. I like to design my furniture in a very specific way, creating items that are innovative, special and appeal to customers in an unforgettable way. I want the world to know that my brand is heavily influenced by the art world. Skateboarding, architecture, underground music and style has always played a big part in my life and shows in all my creations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d first go for a nice mountain bike ride here in the canyons of LA or SM Mountains. Then, we’d head over to one my favorite vegan restaurants Gracias Madre or Sestina to enjoy a good lunch. After that, we’d go to THE BROAD which is a well known contemporary museum in the heart of downtown LA to check out the latest exhibit. Which also happens to be one of my favorite building around there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, I’d like to shoutout to Brandi Hearn. She specializes in personal wardrobe styling for men, and she is phenomenal at what she does. She focuses on helping professional men look and feel their ultimate best, but has also been a key factor in helping me to establish and build a solid personal brand.
