We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin Kalifa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Benjamin, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own private chef business came from a desire to have more creative freedom and control over my work. I wanted to craft personalized culinary experiences for my clients, something that wasn’t always possible when working in traditional kitchens or under someone else’s direction. Being my own boss also allows me to balance my passion for cooking with flexibility in my schedule, which is important to me. Plus, I enjoy the personal connections I build with clients through creating unique meals tailored to their preferences.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My career as a private chef has been a journey of passion, resilience, and continuous learning. What sets me apart from others is my commitment to crafting truly personalized culinary experiences. I take the time to understand my clients’ preferences, dietary needs, and even their family traditions to create meals that go beyond just good food—they’re meaningful experiences tailored to each individual or family I work with.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients. Many of them don’t just see me as someone who prepares their meals but as someone who contributes to their lifestyle and well-being. This deep connection is what excites me every day—knowing that my food has a positive impact on their lives.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. It required long hours, a lot of trial and error, and the courage to take risks. One of the biggest challenges I faced was transitioning from working in restaurants to running my own business. It was a whole new world of responsibilities—from managing clients to marketing myself. But I overcame these challenges by staying true to my passion and continuously educating myself, whether through culinary courses or learning the ins and outs of business.
A major lesson I’ve learned is that you have to be adaptable and open to feedback. Every client is different, and being flexible while still maintaining my standards has helped me grow both personally and professionally.
What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that it’s not just about food. It’s about connection, care, and creating memorable experiences through cuisine. I’m here to make my clients’ lives easier, healthier, and more enjoyable, one meal at a time.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my mentor, Chef ducasse , who played a significant role in shaping my culinary journey. His patience, attention to detail, and passion for food inspired me to push my own boundaries and pursue excellence in my craft. He taught me not only the technical skills of cooking but also the importance of connecting with clients and understanding their needs. I also want to recognize my family and close friends who have been my unwavering support system, encouraging me to take the leap and start my own private chef business. Their belief in me gave me the confidence to follow my passion.
