We had the good fortune of connecting with Bianca Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bianca, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
I appreciate when someone has integrity. Being ethical is also something very important for me. And of course, I consider that common sense is necessary in our day by day modus operandi. I hate the hypocrisy and when people are taking the persons who are modest, nice and polite for granted. Unfortunately, in the world of art I’ve met a lot of artists and art curators who were not trustworthy and just took advantage of any possible collaboration for their own goods. In fact, in the recent book that I’ve wrote, “The Business of Art” (lectures and seminars) I described all type of scams, frauds and other ways how artists can be tricked by the gallerists, collectors, curators, etc. I did not mention anyone in particular in my book, because I do not want to make any type of publicity to someone who doesn’t deserves it; however, I strongly encourage the artists to contact me directly if they would like to know who are the tricksters that they should avoid.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a “Paintaholic”. Therefore, I am an extremely creative person and I paint everything that comes into my mind. I find inspiration in anything. I’ve realized that people are used to love a painter because that one particular style that the artist uses. That’s not my case: I have many styles of art (even I do not suffer from multiple personality disorder). My public knows that no matter what style of painting I use, there is a strong message sent through my very colorful work. So that’s how I am known in the art world, as an artist with militant, provocative, clever, and bold colors works.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places in the city are the scenic routes found in the canyons that connect The Valley to the ocean (like Topanga Canyon, Las Virgenes Canyon, etc.) all the canyons that connect The Valley to the West side of the city (Laurel Canyon, Mulholland Drive, Coldwater Canyon, etc.). I would also take my friends hiking on Zuma Trail, Topanga Park, Frasier Pak, Griffith Observatory, etc.) Of course, I would have lunch or dinner at Moonshadows, Il Cielo, Beverly Garland, The Fig, etc. Beverly Hills, Pasadena, Los Feliz and Culver City areas would also be included in my itinerary.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was fortunate to meet an amazing person from Frankfurt, Germany. His name is Sergio Morariu. He is extremely well connected on 4 continents due to his job that he had in the past (dr. engineer in hydrology). Although now he is retired, Sergio is an extremely active person, being involved in various artistic projects around the world. He is also the president of EnduRoMania foundation. Since the moment I’ve met Sergio, we connected very well and started to brainstorm about entrepreneurial activities. We became good friends and together we met more people who became part of our network. Knowing Sergio. my fairy “godfather” gave me a lot of courage to continue my artistic career and to develop more and more the integration of art in economy and vice versa.
