Meet Bin He | Film producer director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bin He and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bin, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
As a film producer, pursuing an artistic and creative career allows me to bring stories to life, connect with audiences on an emotional level, and leave a lasting impact on culture and society. Film is a powerful medium that combines art, storytelling, and technology, offering endless possibilities for innovation and expression.
I chose this path because I am deeply passionate about the magic of storytelling—how it can inspire, challenge perspectives, and spark important conversations. Producing films is not just about managing logistics; it’s about creating a collaborative environment where diverse talents—writers, directors, actors, and crew—can come together to craft something greater than the sum of its parts.
Ultimately, this career fulfills my need to contribute something meaningful to the world while working in a field that excites and inspires me every day. It’s about chasing the thrill of creativity and sharing stories that matter.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Please tell us more about your art.
As a film producer, my art is in bringing stories to life, connecting talent, and creating environments where creativity can thrive. What sets me apart from others in this field is my deep commitment to not just producing high-quality films, but also ensuring that the stories we tell resonate with audiences on a personal level. I work closely with directors, writers, and the entire team to craft narratives that are emotionally impactful, thought-provoking, and innovative. For me, film is more than just entertainment—it’s a powerful tool for sparking conversation and evoking change.
Another aspect that sets me apart is my deep understanding of the entire filmmaking process, including equipment, technology, and talent. I have worked in every role, and my knowledge of equipment and technology is so precise that it extends to every wire and screw.
When I’m on set, if I’m not present, 90% of the crew often cannot complete the shoot. This is because they use the most advanced equipment, and I am an expert in this field. As a result, I can ensure that my production costs are the lowest since I have personally handled every aspect of the process. My completion rate is the highest because I pay great attention to detail.
What are you most proud of or excited about?
I am most proud of the collaborations I’ve been a part of and the projects that have allowed me to push boundaries creatively. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about seeing a script evolve into a finished product, knowing the hard work and passion that went into it. I’m also excited about the evolving landscape of the film industry, particularly with the integration of new technologies like AI and virtual reality, which are opening up endless possibilities for storytelling. These innovations excite me because they give us the tools to tell stories in ways we’ve never imagined before.
I am also very honored to have been invited to be a judge for the Hollywood AI Festival and the producer of related programs. The Hollywood AI Film Festival is a global competition held monthly, with the annual awards being a major highlight. The festival is dedicated to recognizing innovative works that incorporate artificial intelligence technology in filmmaking. This competition brings together creators from around the world, covering a wide range of genres, including feature films, short films, animation, documentaries, and experimental films. The common feature of all the participating works is that they explore the potential of AI in the art of filmmaking, whether through AI-generated scripts, animation effects, or AI-assisted narrative techniques, showcasing the endless possibilities of this technology.
As a judge, my responsibility is to evaluate each work based on its creativity, technical application, and narrative depth. During the review process, I particularly focus on whether the use of AI adds unique value to the story, and I also consider whether the work successfully breaks traditional boundaries of filmmaking. Our evaluation criteria are not only based on technical excellence but also on the emotional impact on the audience and the contribution to the future of the industry.
During my time as a judge, I have had the privilege of observing some truly influential works. For example, some of the entries amazed me with AI-generated surreal scenes, while others incorporated real-time virtual production techniques, offering unprecedented viewing experiences. Some films also successfully used AI to analyze audience emotional responses, allowing them to adjust narrative pacing and emotional expression with precision. These works have undoubtedly set new benchmarks for the film industry. The festival’s entries include a wide variety of films, some of which are highly acclaimed. Participants come from all over the world, including not only the creative works of emerging directors but also films that have already gained international recognition. Each participating film is filled with passion and effort, demonstrating the limitless possibilities of cinematic art.
It is an incredible honor to witness these groundbreaking creations and provide professional feedback. This experience has not only deepened my understanding of AI technology’s potential but also inspired me to embrace new possibilities in my future projects. My goal is to use platforms like the Hollywood AI Film Festival to offer more talented filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their work while promoting the continuous development of AI applications in the film industry.
The website for this festival is hollywoodaifest.com. I sincerely hope to assist more and more filmmakers.
How did you get to where you are today professionally? Was it easy?
The path to where I am today was certainly not easy, but it has been extremely rewarding. I know many directors who make films, would sell their homes to buy themselves more time to focus on their careers. I have given everything I have too.
If not, how did you overcome the challenges?
I think the first thing is speed. I don’t have rest days and often only sleep 4-5 hours a day. By the time the challenge arrives, my work is already done. Of course, having strong physical endurance is crucial when operating at high speed. The second thing is fully recognizing the value of patience and persistence. Belief can ultimately create a new world. Another important point is taking care of others and animals, which helps us grow as individuals. This can improve our relationships with people and the world around us. By showing kindness and respect to animals, we develop a deeper emotional awareness and enhance our understanding of life.
The wildfires in Los Angeles have been burning for a week. If the fire department allows, I would like to volunteer as a firefighter and help rescue people. This is very meaningful.
What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of collaboration and building a strong, reliable team. No film is made by one person alone—it’s a collective effort. I’ve also learned that flexibility is key. Sometimes the best ideas come from unexpected places, and being open to change can lead to amazing results. Finally, I’ve learned that you have to trust your instincts and stay true to the vision, even when faced with pressure to conform. It’s important to stay authentic and passionate about what you’re creating.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Although I don’t have a brand in the traditional sense, what I want the world to know about me is my passion for storytelling and my commitment to creating meaningful, impactful work. My journey has been shaped by persistence, creativity, and a dedication to making a difference, whether through film or any other medium I choose to explore. I hope that my story inspires others to pursue their dreams, stay true to their values, and embrace the challenges that come with it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting the area, I’d definitely want to show them the best of Hollywood and the surrounding attractions. We’d start the week with a visit to the Walk of Fame, where we can check out the famous stars and take some fun photos. It’s an iconic spot, and I always find it exciting to see the stars of so many legendary artists.
Since I’m vegan, I’d take my friend to some of my favorite vegan spots in town. We’d try Veggie Grill for delicious plant-based food, then head to Monty’s good Burger for upscale vegan dining. Of course, I’d also want to grab a casual bite at Mr. Charlie’s, which has amazing vegan brunch options.
During the week, we’d explore some of LA’s cultural spots too, like the Getty Center for some art and history, and maybe a hike up to Runyon Canyon for breathtaking views of the city and the Hollywood sign. I love the energy at the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach, so I’d take my friend there for a mix of fun activities, shopping, and hanging out by the ocean.
To wrap up, we’d catch a movie at one of the classic theaters, like the TCL Chinese Theatre, or maybe even check out a smaller independent screening at a local film festival, since I’m always excited by what’s happening in the indie film scene!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the incredible collaborators I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years. First, I want to recognize Luis Quijano, who has not only been a visionary director on projects like Caminante, Caminante: La Leyenda del Huay Chivo but also a source of invaluable guidance and support in my career. Working alongside him on Feté and Badsheet has been an absolute honor, and the experiences we shared have shaped the producer I am today.
I also want to give a special shoutout to Andrii Lantukh for co-directing Feté and Badsheet with Luis and bringing such creative energy to the table. Rodrigo Carvalhedo, whose direction of Wishful Thinking has left a lasting impact, deserves recognition as well for his vision and ability to inspire others.
Lastly, I’m incredibly grateful to Gabriela Ono, an Emmy nominee, for her collaboration and mentorship. Working together on projects has not only been an enriching experience but has also taught me the value of teamwork and artistic passion.
These individuals, along with the teams behind each project, deserve immense credit for their support, creativity, and belief in the power of storytelling. Without them, my journey as a producer would not have been as fulfilling or successful.
