We had the good fortune of connecting with Birdie Borria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Birdie, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
One thing about being a kid in the film and TV industry is that sometimes you have to sacrifice some fun things in order to make auditions, callbacks, wardrobe fittings and shoot days. It’s worth it though because usually the fun things I miss will happen again, and the jobs are really fun! I especially love working with other kids and animals. One shoot I got to work with a professional rat on my shoulder. And on The Fabelmans set I made best friends for life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m not only an actress, I’m also a dancer, I have been dancing since I was 2 years old. I take jazz and ballet classes. I love making art- I have always had an artistic mind. I spend a lot of time writing short movies and skits. I love directing and acting in the home videos that I make.
When I was four years old, I started asking questions about how movies were made and my parents explained it to me, and I wanted to start auditioning.
Sometimes acting isn’t easy because sometimes you have to memorize a lot of lines,. Some roles you REALLY REALLY want, and you get so close but you don’t book it. But I remind myself it’s ok because I will get so many other opportunities.
One time Steven Spielberg told me to just continue being myself, so that is something I try to do for all of my auditions.
I want the world to know that I love acting!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’re going to Disneyland, In N Out and Yogurtland! I’m going to take them to the mall to go shopping, probably Universal, a water park and the beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad! My dad inspired me to act, he helps me with every self tape that I do, he helps me work on my lines and gives me great advice, he takes me to set and sometimes we even get to shoot jobs together. Even when we don’t book the same jobs, it’s always fun to audition together. I love you so much, dad, thanks for being the best dad ever!
