Meet Blair Woods | Recording Artist and Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Blair Woods and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Blair, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
It’s the age-old, do unto others as you would want done to you. I know it’s cheesy, but there’s a lot to say about the person in the room that makes you feel comfortable, and welcome. The way you go about treating everyone, doing your best to make everyone feel special and like they have a place in the room is so important.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think in the music industry it’s very easy especially now, to fall into a certain category or sound, and I’ve been challenging myself lately to allow inspiration to have its place, but to really allow my writing to blossom into something so much greater than what it started out as. The more you hone in on your craft, the more flexible you can really be with it. The more creativity you will see from it. Taylor Swift is a great example at that. She’s been writing for YEARS and it really shows in her more recent work. I’m a big swiftie so I am a bit biased, but as a songwriter when you analyze her work, she just keeps evolving and really shines in her storytelling abilities. I cannot wait to share all of the new songs I have been holding onto in 2024, as well as getting back in the booth to finish the latest projects! I have more shows lined up for 2024 as well, I hope to see you there!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ooh every time I get asked this question my answers always change. I personally have a mission to try every restaurant and visit every hot spot in LA before I die. Right now, I’m big into vegan pad-thai and a couple pasta places in the Malibu and Beverly area. Around this time there are so many light displays and events to attend as well, Santa Monica and a lot of the open mall spots have great Christmas decor and lots of food to choose from.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, and he’ll cringe so hard, but lately my boyfriend has been a big inspiration to me. He’s always pushing for the next thing and is so determined to make everything work out. When he sets his mind to something, he really does it. I think that kind of drive and tenacity is rare and when I’m feeling a little off my game, I use it as a way to remind myself what I’m really here for.
