Meet Blue

We had the good fortune of connecting with Blue and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Blue, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
The end goal for Currents is to create this archive of ethereal-esque music that will leave an everlasting impact on mankind. To be heard, known, and loved by everyone at the end of my career would be a dream. We might not look like it now, but in 10-20 years, you and all your peers will know the name ” CURRENTS.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We over at Currents like to make indie-psychedelic rock music that captivates all sides of the psychedelic spectrum. What sets us apart from others is the blend of genres that we incorporate and captivate into our music. We got to where we are today because of the support from our family, friends, and associates, which we could never thank enough! It’s kind of hard to put a level of difficulty on where we are because even still, with all the notoriety, we are still unknown and barely have a following, but even so we try to face that challenge by putting ourself out there and promoting ourself by playing shows, or at venues, and networking with other artists and collaborating. We want the world to know that no matter what you are going through, better days are to come, so just follow the flow of life. Follow the currents.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would personally take someone to The Shops at San Anita. Where there’s many shops to shop at for clothes, food , and other basic necessities that would be at the mall including the cheese cake factory, the movie theater, and a bowling alley all in one mall! I think that’d be a great first spot to visit based on my personal experience. For a week long trip id book either an Airbnb or a hotel. The people and places over at the Santa Monica Pier is a must-visit experience that I think should be witnessed.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I personally (Blue) would like to shout out my success to my closest friend, who happens to be my bandmate Zen. Without his influence, whether being there or not, I feel that I would not be where I am. We are like a dynamic duo when it comes to writing that completes each other as a whole, perfecting anything we touch.
I (Zen) think I would like to attribute my success to my dad who got me into music at a really young age and you know, helped further guide me to where I am today. And I would also really like to shout out my success to Blue, who has made me proud with his music and music composure.
